ladysaint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 just heard apparently from one of our dutch fans that we will be signing Romano Denneboom - striker from Twente - McClaren's team, announced on dutch tv.
Legod Third Coming Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Do Dutch strikers have a history of success in the Championship - genuine question?
Thedelldays Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I bet he's sh1t. I reckon you will be right...
ladysaint Posted 25 January, 2009 Author Posted 25 January, 2009 Apparently a real quik player but not typical goalscorer. Been on the bench mainly this season but an ok player.
ypbl Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 6 foot 2.5 inches. At least he will give us some height up front...
Thedelldays Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 so...what will that be.. 15 players signed in one way or another..?
dubai_phil Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Crikey 6ft 2in Tall and 27 years old and played in the UEFA Cup and for some time in the Dutch PL.. Now there's a surprise
Wiltshire Saint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I bet he's sh1t. I reckon you will be right... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romano_Denneboom Yeah....cos most Dutch international strikers are **** aren't they? If we signed the best players in the world people would moan. This man has had PSV after him and has represented his country at the highest level.
Mr X Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romano_Denneboom Not a prolific goalscorer by any standards but most likely better than what we have got. If its true of course
alpine_saint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 so...what will that be.. 15 players signed in one way or another..? Sounds like a club on the brink of administration, doesnt it ? Sagnaowski must be leaving.
Tac-tics Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I use to sign him on Football Manager....just to let you know, he was brilliant for me
Thedelldays Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Sounds like a club on the brink of administration, doesnt it ? Sagnaowski must be leaving. i wonder what all these players we have brought in cost the club.. im sure some would have commanded a loan fee...many we would have had to pay the wages in full or at least in part... add the money put down for scheiderlin... makes you wonder

david in sweden Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Do Dutch strikers have a history of success in the Championship - genuine question? .......Mmm?... not unless you count Denis Bergkamp and Rommedahl...! ...then of course, Ipswich had those two who ran their midfield so well for years.. (names escape me at moment...? (M........... and ???? )
pimpin4rizeal Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Romano Denneboom on the way to the English Championship. FC Twente of the attacker makes the move to Southampton, reports Humberto Tan Live in England. The former player of Willem II, NEC and SC Heerenveen was the Tukkers out of concern. The transition from Denneboom is still to the arrival of Nikita Rukavytsya. FC Twente has a first offer on the attacker. Perth Glory, his Australian employer, an amount of 600,000 euros to receive. In Southampton coach Jan Poortvliet was recently on a non-active states. Mark Wotte take temporary tasks. The former oefenmeester of Willem II, FC Utrecht and ADO Den Haag is the main courses in English.
bridge too far Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Not having a pop, but the thread title is a little missleading as he hasn't signed yet To be pedantic (for a change) - there is a question mark at the end of the thread title
Mr X Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Not having a pop, but the thread title is a little missleading as he hasn't signed yet Ahh I see you've changed it now
Mr X Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 To be pedantic (for a change) - there is a question mark at the end of the thread title Its been changed now old one just said "New striker Signed"
exit2 Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Its been changed now old one just said "New striker Signed" I changed it so people dont moan

egreog Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Well, on the bright side, he literally cannot be any worse than the jokers that masquerade as strikers at the moment.........beggars can't be choosers!
david in sweden Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 http://www.voetbalcourant.nl/pagina/voorpagina/23884/denneboom-verruilt-twente-voor-southampton My Dutch isn't so hot, but it suggests that FC Twente, currently 3rd in their Premier League ( behind AX and Ajax) and with a healthy + goal diff. have a surplus of strikers. A permanent transfer would cost +/ - 600,000 €uros..? How much is that in REAL MONEY someone.?
leon86 Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Just loked at his stats on espn and he has scored 3 in all competions this season from 19 games (including sub appearences), 10 last season from 33 (no sub appearences). To be honest he looks like more of a worker than a goal scorer... But to be honest I'm willing to give the chap a try!
Evil Monkey Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 .......Mmm?... not unless you count Denis Bergkamp and Rommedahl...! ...then of course, Ipswich had those two who ran their midfield so well for years.. (names escape me at moment...? (M........... and ???? ) Reuser and Wilnis?
aintforever Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Sounds like a club on the brink of administration, doesnt it ? Sagnaowski must be leaving. If we were a club on the brink of administration Sagnaowski would leave and no one brought in.
VectisSaint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 Yeah....cos most Dutch international strikers are **** aren't they? If we signed the best players in the world people would moan. This man has had PSV after him and has represented his country at the highest level. Agree with you, after all most Dutch strikers are poor, I mean who would want Von Nistlerooy, Bergkamp, Hasselbaink etc. But beware, Denneboom has 1 international cap, against the mighty Liechtenstein , hardly the highest level.

pimpin4rizeal Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 so basicly it looks like we will be signing him. but on the basis fc twente get there target from perth glory. sounds like a good move if u ask me, finally the dutch managers are being able to sign there own players. can only be a good thing
Cabrone Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 The Ipswich pair were Arnold Muhren and Frans Thijssen. Both very good midfielders in a very good Ipswich team (2nd in div 1 for 2 seasons in a row). Anyway, this Dutch bloke doesn't sound too bad.
Block 5 Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 My Dutch isn't so hot, but it suggests that FC Twente, currently 3rd in their Premier League ( behind AX and Ajax) and with a healthy + goal diff. have a surplus of strikers. A permanent transfer would cost +/ - 600,000 €uros..? How much is that in REAL MONEY someone.? Er....£600,000. Nearly at parity with the Euro, so give or take tuppence!

A permanent transfer would cost +/ - 600,000 €uros..? How much is that in REAL MONEY someone.? Looks like a free transfer, dependant on FC Twente signing Nikita Rukavytsya from the Australian side for €600k - nothing on either transfer on the FC Twente official site Apologies - mis-translated part of it - he is out of favour at the moment with the Tukkers (FC Twente's nickname) Edited 25 January, 2009 by Gorgiesaint Dodgy Translation
Nexstar Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 On average scores once in every 5 games he appears in. Great.

When he leaves what will become of the Dutch players?
aintforever Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 I think our best chance of survival is to get a good partner for Saganowski, this guy has the attributes.
Nolan Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 My Dutch isn't so hot, but it suggests that FC Twente, currently 3rd in their Premier League ( behind AX and Ajax) and with a healthy + goal diff. have a surplus of strikers. pimpin4rizeal Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 here he is in pre season action looks like the big brick **** house player we need up front http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cm0Fr9mMyX8
Steeleye Saint Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 so...what will that be.. 15 players signed in one way or another..? Against Donny, and correct me if I'm wrong, only 3 players had come through the academy, ( Surman, McG, and James) all others were bought in - looks like they are finally accepting that our home grown young players can't do the job on their own.
um pahars Posted 25 January, 2009 Posted 25 January, 2009 So who has signed him then????? Wotte has only been in the job two days and he's already bagged us a striker. If he's one Jan had lined up then you have to assume it's business as usual with Wotte literally picking up where Poortvliet left off. Unless of course others are involved in the signing of players of course;)
