Can't say I blame anyone, given the notoriety of Spurs' forwards for giving our back line a hard time. Also haven't seen much in pre-season to suggest we've matured in defence or eradicated the daft errors. I don't think it'll be doom and gloom all season. We've a few promising players which I think will come good. But it's a bloody difficult start.
Sidney Fudpucker the 3rd Posted 31 July, 2022 Posted 31 July, 2022 They'll batter us. Going for at least 3-0. Wouldn't surprise me to see them get 4 or 5.

Miltonaggro Posted 31 July, 2022 Posted 31 July, 2022 3-1 to Spurs my regrettable prediction, Aribo consolation for saints and mind-numbingly Ralph starting McCarthy ahead of Bazunu in goal.
farawaysaint Posted 31 July, 2022 Posted 31 July, 2022 Son always seems to enjoy playing us so I think we will get a bit of a hammering. Tough start to the season though so no point panicking if we lose.
Bad Wolf Posted 31 July, 2022 Author Posted 31 July, 2022 Anyone got a couple of spare tickets? Quite fancy it!

Kenilworthy Posted 31 July, 2022 Posted 31 July, 2022 I am guessing we will wear the so far unlaunched third kit. The white home kit is clearly out. The away kit has blue shirts that will clash with Spurs, unless we have change light blue shorts.

woodsaint1 Posted 31 July, 2022 Posted 31 July, 2022 Positives Kane usually has a slow start to the season. No Richarlison who usually scores against us. First games of the season are often cagey affairs which could work in our favour. If we're still in it by the hour mark then the crowd will get restless as they'll be expecting a win. Negatives We're likely starting with 5 at the back and it will be a 5 with us getting bodies behind the ball and looking to counter. Will have to endure alot of pressure and need to ride our luck. Just dont see many goals in us atm. Therefore if we want to get a result we're going to have to shut Spurs out or concede one at most. Our first game record is absolute garbage. Got a feeling about us nicking a 1-1 draw, but head is also saying 3-0 Spurs

People often say things like this but then never seem to throw out the bunting when we miraculously salvage a 2-1 defeat. Really don’t understand what you’re saying here…I didn’t write anything about ‘bog standard’ or 6-0. It’s just my prediction for this game and I’ve provided clear rationale why I think that. How can I ‘throw out the bunting’ when the games not even been played yet? 🤣

How can I ‘throw out the bunting’ when the games not even been played yet? 🤣 Fairly straight forward; you said we’d need a bit of luck to lose 3-0, so what happens if we don’t get it and luck is generally neutral in this game? What score would you expect then? Also I’m quite obviously talking about after the game.
Charlie Wayman Posted 1 August, 2022 Posted 1 August, 2022 He'll go for experience and low risk looking for a 0-0 draw. McCarthy Lyanco Bednarek Salisu KWP Perraud JWP Romeu Armstrong(S) Aribo Armstrong(A)

Don’t think it’s necessary to get any more accurate if it turns out that bad! Who knows, Ralph may get his game plan spot on and the players perform out of their collective skins and we breeze a win - would be desirable but unlikely on the balance of the limited evidence we’ve seen over the last 20 games.

I expect they will be drip fed in as required. I would not like to call the result, I got some heart after the Monaco 2nd half, I haven't seen anything of Saturdays game. 1

I do think there’s a chance Bazunu will start (and hope so). The only other possibility is that he thinks Djenepo is a better bet than Perraud - I wouldn’t put it past Ralph. 1

Tanlee Posted 1 August, 2022 Posted 1 August, 2022 Spurs win, but fingers crossed some signs that Ralph has more of a clue than he did towards the end of last season and the new saints can offer us something different, because if they don't it's a long season ahead.

FarehamSaintJames Posted 2 August, 2022 Posted 2 August, 2022 Very torn between 3-1/4-1 to Spurs. Probably a Son or Kane hat-trick too. Absolute domination, an eye opener, and a huge plummet back down to earth for everyone after signing all these future wonderkids and realising “they’re probably not good enough yet”. 1 1

Other than possibly Bazunu, doubt that any other wonderkids will play (or at least start). Aribo is not a kid, he might play.
