Willo of Whiteley Posted yesterday at 08:54 Posted yesterday at 08:54 He talked about Russell Martin like a second father. He needs to remember that football careers are short and managers come and go, some you will like, some you will not. But it’s important to not throw your toys out the pram. He is still a kid, a very weedy kid that is playing in the Premier League. How many of his former colleagues in the same age group gone on to play first team football at their age? Last time I checked they were playing low EFL level or U18 football on big money elsewhere. He needs to stay grounded, stay local. If he talks about how much he loves the club, commit, knuckle down, put this season down to one of learning and be ready for next season. He could be an absolute diamond next season.

He also made an error that led to a Crystal Palace goal. This sums up the softness at our club. The senior pros or management should have dug him out after the Palace game. A proper bollocking would have ensured he didn’t do the same thing 2 weeks later. Not our soft as shite son-in-laws, I bet they gave him a cuddle and said “never mind”….Does he even know it’s wrong to mince about with the ball in the dying seconds? 4
Hodgey Posted yesterday at 10:05 Posted yesterday at 10:05 Very harsh comments. He’s a kid learning his trade who in his first full season has to learn 3 completely different styles of play under 3 different bosses in the toughest league in the world. I actually think he is being managed pretty well - his form has dropped, he’s been dropped and I’m pretty sure his mistakes are being highlighted. He’s definitely not weedy either, the main reason he will go for £50m is that he has already shown he can physically mix it at this level. Seems like a really odd scapegoat - he’s going to have a great career, I’d love to see him for a couple more seasons but it’s pretty unlikely unless we get a new manager he instantly bonds with. 2

Nah! they love slagging off our youngsters on here. 1

He’s either a slow learner, or he’s not being coached properly. I suspect it’s the second one. If he was my kid, I’d want him in a different environment where a winning mentality runs deep and once you’re told something it’s ingrained. Souness said at Liverpool nobody was ever told anything twice, you either got it, or you got moved on. He looks like he’s been indulged by the club to me, he needs some tough love.
Whitey Grandad Posted yesterday at 11:39 Posted yesterday at 11:39 Some people here are making excuse for him on account of his age. In which case don't throw him on for the last few minutes when you're trying to hang on to a point or three. 3

We are not going to get £50m for Dibling. 1

And I suspect the manager wants him on to win free kicks and drag us up the pitch which makes sense. But once again I want to reiterate anyone having a pop at this kid for his cameo performances in a side that is a) terrible and b) set up completely the opposite that he has learnt and is good at, is genuinely deluded 1

Similarly there isn't much point developing him for a year only for him to leave in the cheap next summer. This should be sorted before we even started throwing him premier league game time.. .you wanna pay premier league football ? Sign the contract!.. Robinson signed, maybe it would be better to reward the youngsters who actually commit 2
