Personally think Lavia is making the right call. Poch is a brilliant coach and will certainly improve him. Lavia, Caicedo and Enzo is an incredible midfield trio.

Victor Wanyama said Poch was the best thing to happen to him in his football career.

What, better than us singing his name to the Lion Sleeps Tonight?

If we reinvest this money and fail to go up then it means the ownership have had another shocker in the transfer market and RM will probably pay the price for that.

I'm pretty confident they are going to get solid players for this league.

I wouldn’t say that as such. It depends how we play and if there’s steady progress as the season goes on. We all want to go straight back up but if we’re playing well and finish  top 6, that’s not too bad, considering we’ve had to build a new squad with a new manager. This mess has been building steadily since summer 2016, not just under SR, they were just the ones holding the parcel when the music stopped. It won’t be sorted in one transfer window.

Klopp will win you trophies though.

Have to say i'm looking forward to seeing what Poch can do with Chelsea.

Still lack the firepower of a real goal scorer which I think will hamper them.  I’m expecting some decent football though and a much better showing than last year.  Their squad is massive though so maybe we should be tapping them up for some super star loans…

Wow, they signed Jackson who failed his medical at Bournemouth earlier this year. That'll keep their medics busy. £32 Million...nuts.

Probably on purpose knowing Chelsea were sniffing around.

Unless thats very good photo shopping - it amazing that there is a photo with him in their shirt and reportedly there is no ink yet to dry on the deal.

That's a pretty obvious Photoshop, look at the sleeves with the trees behind.

Kind of bored with this saga now, just announce the deal is done and we can all move on.

I didn't bother to zoom in - probably a irked at the "being shown a photo of another man out with my wife". Football at the top really has become a like a trophy hunting Safari.

There’s no way Chelsea would release a photo like that before he signed and TBH it’s pretty cheap and unprofessional for someone like Romano to use it in a tweet.

The Hummel hoarding behind him gives it away too

Played this one perfectly, masterclass of how to negotiate an outgoing.

Let's not spend the next year patting ourselves on the back for getting the fee we did though, we need to make sure this is used correctly and reinvested in the right areas over the next few years.

It is good business, just hope we can get some replacements in and a settled side ASAP to give us a decent shot of promotion.

If any club can fuck up promotion after receiving the amount of money we have, and having the ability to buy pretty much anyone in the league, then it’s us. Looking forward to seeing what weird and wonderful way we manage it this season.

Yep it’s a great deal to be fair. Part of me thinks that chelsea were always at the table hence the deal On Livramento and Liverpool were always being played a little. Or maybe that’s wishful thinking on my part. As good as Lavia is there are many more next big things that don’t live up to the hype than do so great money. Let’s hope it’s spent wisely to build a decent side.

Incredible really, that his talent still shone through during Jones and Selles tenures. That takes some doing.

Good luck to the kid, I thought Liverpool would've been the best career option but I'm intrigued to see if he can get a foothold in the Chelsea first 11.

We'll have a tidy bit of money now, let's see how Wilcox and Co use it before the end of the window.

Mighty Liverpool tried to bully little relegated Southampton into a cheap deal because we were so desperate for their money....then they missed the fucking boat! 🤣

Great business, wish him well, hope he excels at Chelsea and it annoys scousers for years to come.

The article also states Citeh get 20% of the fee (rather than of the profit).

But do we assume the sages of this forum know more than a footy journalist?

David Ornstein has said its 20% of the profit.

Be interesting to know how much input Dragan had in the background with us not folding for tuppence ha’penny. Recalling the comment made at the end of last season at his own people’s concerns at the rate Saints were burning through money, and him getting more involved.

Just saw that our favourite twitter expert, Fabrizio Romano, has announced that the Lavia deal is complete at long last.

Good luck to him, and a good deal for Saints.
