S Thats why we signed Aribo - he plays everwhere 😆 (but yes we need a bit more quality up top to make us really competitive).
Saint-Reece Posted 15 July, 2022 Posted 15 July, 2022 I am sure I saw a tweet somewhere on here (from MLG I think) that the RB twitter account confirmed it will be streamed, yes.

skintsaint Posted 15 July, 2022 Posted 15 July, 2022 Will our friendly games be live scored on the BBC as well?😁
stevegrant Posted 15 July, 2022 Posted 15 July, 2022 Worth noting that Watford tickets are still available, and they've dropped the number of aways required down to what appears to be around 8 or 9.
Matthew Le God Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 (edited) Starting pre-season with a 3421/343 formation then it seems Edited 16 July, 2022 by Matthew Le God
washsaint Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Wow, that team looks horrible and shows how light we are in all positions. I really hope we make a couple of forward signings as the squad looks so light on goals.
CB Fry Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Lose today and we can forget about staying up this season. 3

How does a starting XI in the 1st pre-season game show that? Especially as the team is a mix of first choice players and none first choice players... plus a few players are unavailable for selection. Sure we lack numbers and quality upfront and in attacking midfield. But the squad and first XI isn't weak in some other areas. 1

davefizzy14 Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Looking forward to watching this at 1pm looks like a back three then with KWP and Moussa as wing backs.

Matthew Le God Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 105 minutes will be played today. After the 2 x 45, followed by a short break, there will be another 15 minutes of play on top.

The Kraken Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 I knew there was a reason I typically avoid pre season friendlies. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
AngusHyd Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Romeo has looked solid at DM; happy to pick the ball up in relatively tight spaces, moves it on quickly and seems accurate with his passing. I’d like to see Aribo run with the ball a bit more and come deeper to pick it up but early days in a preseason friendly. Can’t expect too much! And a cracking save by our hopefully new number 1, already fills me with more confidence. Djenepo still looks poor to me but might be my bias against him now!
Wurzel Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Ooh, keeper comfortably claims cross on edge of 6 yard box. Not seen that for a while, he has to be first choice now 😄 6
Cumbria Saint Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 New keeper looking impressive. Saints tidy but as expected little up front so far.
coalman Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 This is uncomfortable watching. A goalkeeper who commands his area AND distributes the ball. What sorcery is this? 2

trousers Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 (edited) Fairy nuff.... Just not seen such an arrangement before. All good Edited 16 July, 2022 by trousers
Colinjb Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Good to see Djenepo getting his one good game of the season out of the way early this year. 2
coalman Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Wait. Did I just see a Saints DM drive forward and shoot? 2
The Kraken Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 At half time….. Bazunu looks good. Made a good save and looks very composed with the ball at his feet. Ketchup looks like he’s learning to play in a 3, not much to do though had one poor underhit backpass. Bednarek caught napping after 1 minute and booked, otherwise ok. Salisu solid. kWP, you know what you’ll get. Djnepo, lots of space and sight of the ball but overall his standard self. Similar with Elmo. Lavia mostly tidy, seems to have a tendency to take risks with a flick or a bit of skill but I like the look of him. Not impressed with Joe Aribo yet, doesn’t look sharp and really didn’t get into the game. As for Tella, still really not sure what he is, but it’s not a striker. 3
goodymatt Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Early signs from Bazunu look good. Impressive save early on and commanded his box well. Also looked composed on the ball when pressed. Lavia looks a little raw but not scared to have the ball in dangerous areas and tenacious when looking to regain possession. Aribo has been very quiet, not really noticed him much during that first half.
Nordic Saint Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Decent first half performance from Saints. Bazunu and Lavia have impressed.
Suhari Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Not a lot going on for us upfront. Bazunu and Lavia do look good.
goodymatt Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 McCarthy on, immediately kicking straight into touch. 1

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 All McCarthy's fault! Just getting in some pre season training of my own, there. 🙂 2

coalman Posted 16 July, 2022 Posted 16 July, 2022 Maybe there's a £50m defender inside Bednarek. It's just he gets ruthlessly punished for any slip by his own keeper.
