Saint Matty 76 Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 We've looked okay to be fair, just a lack of quality with final pass/shot. Actually attacking consistently though for the first time this preseason.
SaveloyMush Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 It would seem that Ralph wasn't trolling us about Romeu! 1

Suhari Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 McCarthy stepping up to almost a CB position at times, when we're knocking it around the back. Done it a few times. Don't remember that last season.

More unpopular oppinion, I agree with deano - Adams and Armstrong could develop into a decent strike partnership 😅 (particulary if we sort out the supply / support). 1
Manuel Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Lyanco is such an enigma. Brilliant sometimes but takes too many risks. If we can get the best out of him... 2

Defenders miscontrolled it, it bounces once, and then it's volleyed into the corner from 10yards before anyone can react. 3
macca155 Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Watching Romeu being asked to run box to box is painful. I've seen him chasing after whippet like Monaco players too many times. He is far better when they are running at him. 4
Saint86 Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Anyone else think redmond has a bit of a gut on him? 1
Saints foreva Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 HT. Another half of football where we have failed to create a clear cut chance. This formation is so dull. 1
Wade Garrett Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 McCarthy would struggle to get a game in the National League. Absolute dogshit. 3

doc oli Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Dean Hammond is definitely “mr club positivity propaganda man”. Not a bad word to say about anyone. 1
Micky Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 (edited) Predictable really, not a lot created, poor finishing when we did create, lots of the ball without a lot of intent or direction. Edited 27 July, 2022 by Micky

hypochondriac Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 The positive is that is pretty much the B team. I'm not sure too many of them will be starting after a few games. You would hope anyway! 2 1

Even Eastleigh have got a better goalkeeper than him. I had a ticket for tonight's game but when I saw McCarthy's name on the team sheet, I decided not to go. He just annoys me too much. I'll go on Saturday though as I'm optimistic he won't play then. It would be useful if they notified us more than an hour in advance when McCarthy is going to play so we can stay well away.
saints1988 Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Adam Armstrong - Do want him to come good, has something about him the one positive so far tonight 1
saintant Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Well that was depressingly familiar and I'm sure Ralph learned nothing more than the rest of us which will come as no surprise. Waste of 45 minutes other than a welcome run out for Perraud. Zero creativity and we look a side totally lacking in shape or direction. Armstrong buzzed about a bit and tried hard but with no support from the midfield. He hit one glorious pass out to Redmond and when the ball eventually arrived in the middle Armstrong was on to it and got a powerful shot away but too close to keeper. If any of these are trying to stake a claim to a first team spot it isn't showing. Turgid stuff again. Sideways, backwards, sideways rinse and repeat - nothing we haven't seen a million times before.

kjurwi Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Thought we had an ok half. Monaco hasn't created almost anything(apart from the goal). We have had a few long range shots. Ely has Lost the ball a bit to often. I do not blame McCarthy for THE goal. 1
beatlesaint Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 That Chelsea mauling at home really destroyed us, Ralph dropped the pressing game and went for this turgid shit straight after and hasn’t looked back….or forward since. 1

Bad Wolf Posted 27 July, 2022 Posted 27 July, 2022 Now that Valery has put one into the keeper's hands, I make that every outfield player (bar Djenepo who's just come on) has had a shot?
