jabei Posted 26 June, 2022 Share Posted 26 June, 2022 (edited) I’m an ex STH from early 80’s and then early 2000’s who moved away from the city. My 10 year old boy Has shown an interest in watching some games next season and I’m treating it as possibly my last chance to get a season ticket & am looking in the Family Stand. it’s a full day away from home for us so it’s quite risky that we may end up not making too many games and know there are 6 already we won’t make. My question is around the sell on/buy back scheme that is mentioned on the website. Does anyone have any experience if this and how it works? Especially in the Family stand. Can I sell on my adult ticket only or does it have to go to an adult and child? Edited 26 June, 2022 by jabei Spelling
Give it to Ron Posted 26 June, 2022 Share Posted 26 June, 2022 If you know you are missing 6 already then there will be re-arranged games you may miss for school I am not sure it’s worth it for you. Why not just PAYG then maybe get half season ticket if working out for you?
The Cat Posted 26 June, 2022 Share Posted 26 June, 2022 You can sell tickets back separately as an adult and a child, but only if the game has sold out. Therefore it's likely there would be games you can't attend where you'd just lose out on the money. If you can't make 6 games that's a third of the season. It doesn't really seem worth getting season tickets unless you want them to also bump you up the queue for away games. Get a membership and buy individual match tickets I reckon. The Kraken Posted 26 June, 2022 Share Posted 26 June, 2022 It’s only £19 for an under 11 season ticket in the family stand so that comes into it. Adult is £580 though, so a total of just under £600 for the two. It’s £55 to £45 for adult and under 11 ticket per game (or was last year) depending on cat a to cat c. So say an average of £50 a game, you need to be going to about twelve games over the season to make it worthwhile. Sounds like it is already viable in this situation, and more so given the potential for getting some money back via the resell scheme.
Charlie Wayman Posted 26 June, 2022 Share Posted 26 June, 2022 I should forget it, apart from domestic arrangement issues, the fare being served up under Coco the Clown isn't worth watching
jabei Posted 26 June, 2022 Author Share Posted 26 June, 2022 Thanks for the replies. I’ve worked out that for us it’s still viable for a season ticket if we can make 10 games or more. The £19 U-11 really makes a difference. Although my lad won’t admit it the games he really wants to see are the Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. (It’s not so easy growing up a Saints fan outside of Southampton) and this seems the only way of guaranteeing those games If I can claw back some cash somehow, it makes the decision a bit easier. I'm sure you can find someone on here who would have the tickets for games you can't go to. If they give you £30 for the pair they will be saving money and you'll get some back. suewhistle Posted 26 June, 2022 Share Posted 26 June, 2022 Yes, the couple in front of me can't always make it so various relatives turn up to the different games. Obviously don't try and smuggle in Great Uncle Albert as an 11 year old..
