What's funny is that numbers were about proportionate with UK population.

Interesting point. 8% of the squad were black. 4% of the UK population is black. In the interest of representational diversity we should drop either Carter or James from the squad.

(Disclaimer - clearly not serious).

We're still not proportionate to the population even then, there is no way if you took a sample of women from the country they'd be as objectively attractive, young, and healthy as the lionesses. If we truly want to be representative of the nation we need some players who travel to games using their bus pass and have no teeth of their own.

Also wheres the consternation about the lack of Asian representation(9% of population) in both the men's and women's teams

Don't get the issue. Seemed just completely celebratory to me, not at all weird. Players didn't seem uncomfortable and seemed very happy going in for the hugs. Cheek kissing may not be british but it is a very european thing.

Looks like he is in the process of getting cancelled...

Her head has gone.

In what world would you give the same amount of sponsorship money to one event which gets 50k+ live spectators and hundreds of millions to a global TV audiences and another event which gets about 3,000 in person and is watched by hardly anyone on TV?

I think the issue is him holding her head and forcing her to kiss on the mouth , looks pretty bad from an old official and disrespectful at best , sexual assault at worst !

For feminists they do seem to want men looking after them rather too much for my liking. “Here you are pet, go buy yourself something nice”.

Surely they should be encouraging brand sponsorship from brands that sell predominantly to birds, there’s some massive companies that could get invoked & grow the game. Max Factor, Maybelline, Hello Fresh  , Ann Summers, they could even hook up with Instagram or maybe run a Amazon “All or nothing” chick thing. They need to think outside the box instead of relying on the man’s game to continually give them handouts.

Far too narrow, needs to be distributed in terms of age, race, sexuality, religion, social class and disability if we are travelling down this bumpy road.  In terms of her statement it’s rather like booking the Cheeky Girls as a novelty support act at a Rolling Stones Concert and them demanding half the takings.

Ah bless mate... I wasn't the one so triggered by the fact it had been reported in two different news stories that I had to complain to the internet about it.

Too right!  Unwarranted sexual advances should only EVER be the concern of the country whose citizens are the perpetrators.  No need for international awareness, bloody FIFA meddling in things that simply don't concern them.

Excellent guerilla marketing on Nike's part.

Bit cynical, they still aren't going to be selling huge amounts of them they're literally producing a limited edition level amount. There'll still be very disappointed people.

What's funny is the green one is actually available on that DHGate website that a lot of us use for Saints kits.

You can always count on WSS to get the wrong end of the stick.

So why are you sneering about him being 'cancelled'.

I am not. Just highlighting he is being cancelled, as I said at the time he was being too 'handsy'...despite someone telling me it was nothing to worry about and it was a typical 'european thing'.

Clearly not

What do you mean he’s being cancelled ?  Still in his job , blaming everyone else , history of being a dickhead , refusing to go quietly , so how is he being cancelled ??

I struggle to see a peck on the lips as sexual. He's clearly toast though as the player/s has taken severe offence to it, coupled with other relations that have fanned thr media storm.

He is being cancelled. Didn’t resign, so the entire Spanish (ladies) team are now refusing to play and he is being suspended.

Jenni Hermoso says she did not consent to be kissed by Spanish football federation president Luis Rubiales - as 81 players confirm they will not play for Spain's women's team until he is removed from his post.

Still, it's got fuck all to do with us, only Spanish people are allowed to be involved.

It appears that this dispute between the Spanish Womens team has been going on for several years under different coaches . Their complains about treatment , sexism and homophobia have been overridden by the SFA who before the world cup froze out any player that didn't apologise for complaining and demanding a written apology from each player if they wanted to stay in the team.

Looks like it will drag on for some time ..................

Don't be a twat, my point was clear, but it's no surprise you don't understand it. Saying someone is being cancelled, usually means you think there is an over reaction going on. I think that his actions were wrong, so when dellsdays said he was being cancelled, I said it was up to the Spanish people if they didn't want him as head of their FA.

I await your brilliant incoming gotcha attempt.

Well, Fifa are taking the matter into their own hands - not the Spanish

There is no point. He is being moved aside because the mob said so.

Partly but if you look at the history and factor in the Spanish treatment of women even in recent times as well as the treatment of the women’s football team members under several coaches then it has come to a head .
Most of the coaches of the women's team who were made to sit in the front row of his press conference have resigned .
