It's an exciting game - there does seem to be a lack of any sort of marking (especially in the box, oddly), but I'm guessing with the size of the pitch allows more space. Generally very poor in the air as well.

However, it is massively end to end and very exciting. I think if you class it as a slightly different game and just watch it for what it is, rather than compare it to the Men's top level game, then it's definitely worth watching.

I’m surprised no one has called it the greatest save of all time yet like Allison in the champions league final when the striker basically put it straight at the keeper in the only place they could save it

I think Bazunu wouldn’t look out of place on this stage, fit in both physically and in terms of positioning.

The English centre forward has an atrocious touch, get hold of the fucking thing. And the centre halves are donkeys.

Keeper did a little jump just as the bird was about to shoot, meaning that she wasn’t set and therefore had no chance of saving what wasn’t a particularly vicious shot.

They look knackered already, maybe they should play for less time like the tennis, maybe 30 each half.

If their tennis was 5 sets they'd be playing bloody long matches with those rallies. The mens game can go five sets cos they hang down so many aces or serve/volley quick points.

Agree re the keeper though, wasn't set.

We will find this very hard going now. They will play keep ball. We look leggy!

Yep. They're better than us all over the pitch, have more pace, and seem better conditioned. Tough to see a way back.

Time to see what this manager is made of

Yep, but not sure what she can do tactically against a much better and quicker team. Interestingly, I heard the other day that there's a push to get her involved in the mens game. No details were given and I'm not sure if it was meant as national team level or club level.

Spain leading the tournament in possession and passes. But as we all keep getting told, that's not the way to win matches, let alone tournaments.

It is if you do something with the ball, it isn't if you don't and/or give it and concede goals.

Very simplistic to say that possession will or won't win you games.

Spain technically have been far superior so far and played some great football so deserve their lead. England look laboured and can't get their passing going. Unless we improve and maybe make some tactical switches in the second half we will not be crowned World Champions. Next goal is crucial.
