2022/23 Fixtures - Spurs (a) First

Hmm, Liverpool at home on the final day.  I can see it now.  Saints need to win to stay up, Liverpool need a point to clinch the title.  Still 0-0 going into the 4th minute of stoppage time.  Scousers already starting to celebrate.  But Adams suddenly breaks into the area.  He's hacked down by Van Dyke.  Red card for Virgil, penalty to Saints.  JWP buries it, final whistle goes, Saints fans go wild,  Ralph and Klopp both start to cry.  And then I wake up.

With Tottenham (as of right now) being able to choose between Kane, Son, Kulusevski, Lucas, Perisic and Richarlison up front against us, it could be an, ahem, eventful first game of the season for us.

So many of them, they won't have fully worked out their tactics. We'll be fine...

...knows that this post will come back to haunt me.🙂

Champions League Tottenham Hotspur, with their free-scoring forward line, and serial-winner manager Conti versus struggling Southampton, managed by twice-record-defeat Hassenhuttl and a team of wet-behind-the-ears youngsters... Mmm...

0-0 for me!

Surprised it hadn't been sold out before now, but great to have a sold out away section. Nice saturday game in the sunshine hopefully.

What does it mean when it says "seated only"? Are there additional standing tickets available ?

95% of away section has safe standing barriers, one block doesn't which the club try to allocate to those who want to sit acknowledging the rest of the away end will be stood. You have to call up for seated block where ticket office ask you to confirm you'll sit down during game.

Whole allocation is sold out.

In fairness last season it went to general sale, but perhaps that was because it was a Wednesday night kick off.

As for the seated only question, Spurs’ away end has installed railings which are suitable for standing up, however there is a really tiny section of the away end by block 118 which doesn’t have the railings.

Last season everyone was still standing up by that section anyway though.

Yeah, I've been last few seasons, just a slightly oddly worded statement from Saints.

First game of the season, probably nice weather, day in London, Saturday 3pm kick off.  Thougt it would get sold out to the first set of STH.  Must be over 10,000 that went to more than 4 aways last year ?!

Yeah, I thought 4 was very low bar. Maybe loads of our STHs only do the home ones?

Having said that, I was able to get a Brighton ticket as a non-STH and that was our closest away game.

That was probably something to do with us being shit at the time, plus trains being screwed and it being Sunday rather than Saturday.

And yes, loads of STH never go to away games. It doesn't even cross some people's minds which I find a bit weird.

It’s not always possible or practicable for a STH to go to away games. Domestic responsibilities can take precedence.
