Picked up a Phillips Perfect Draft from Costco for £184. Just got tthrough my first keg. Jupiter, from  Belgium. Anyone else got one or similar?

The kegs don’t seem like great value, £30 to £35 for 6 litres, that’s what, about £3 a pint?

It would have to taste like nectar to justify that cost for lager, which IMO is perfectly alright out of a can.

I tried those Heineken mini kegs a couple of times, I just got 5 pints of foam, followed by five more of flat syrup. Don’t know if these are similar.

If you’re talking about the ones with just a spout then, yeah, those things are rubbish, just chaos and so much waste booze. From the reviews I’ve read these beer machine things are actually very good (price aside).

Looks similar to a Tap King that was sold over here. It failed and I got a small compensation from the owners in the end due to buying the unit. Tasted nice and felt like a proper pint but wasn't cost effective at all.

Dont people also buy these machines because 1. it's fun and 2. it feels a bit less alchy than tearing through cans?

I've got one and the company who sell the kegs credit £5 per keg when you return the empties to them plus there's usually a 15% discount going if you 'like' their Facebook support group.

I'd say I probably average £70 an order and that will get me 3 kegs so works out just over £2 a pint. I do only use the machine a few times a year though but it does do a cracking pint out of it, practically the Juliper lager which is the one I tend to go for.

I have a Pinter. Makes a decent beer, with quite a few to chose from. Works out about £1 per pint.

Reminds me of Sundays at McKluskeys back in the day saying £1 per pint! 😂

I have one too, although I use it to make cider. The Waltham Forest one they do is excellent.

Bloody hell, Slutskeys what a place. Another sunday night favourite was Flatfoot Sams in Sarisbury.

Anyone remember that place by Fareham station, thursday nights all you can drink for £10. Used to sometimes jump on the train down from Bitterne. Full of 16-18 years olds getting out of their box, usually ended up pulling or in a scrap, sometimes both.

That's about the sum of it. Also 40 odd beers to choose from and a recently a cider. Out in a craft brewery place in Wokingham recently and paid £11.80 for two pints, so around £3 a pint if you don't send the kegs back seems pretty decent to me.

McCluskeys and New York's, legendary places. Schooner's too in Ocean Village. Or if we were feeling really adventurous, Burbanks

JFKs at the end of ocean village was alright when it first opened. Simons wine bar used to be decent for an older type, lizard Lounge and Rhino were my preferred places late 90s, early 00s.
