Very sad news and not that old. Wasn’t allowed to watch The Sweeney as a kid. Loved Minder and repeats of Sweeny when older. Glory days of tv

The violence carried over into his personal life!

He publicly admitted domestic abuse...

"It's not difficult for a woman to make a man hit her. She certainly wasn't a beaten wife, she was hit and that’s different." - Dennis Waterman, speaking about ex-wife Rula Lenska

Sad news for us oldies, brilliant in The Sweeney & Minder and was pretty decent on New Tricks.

Regardless of his domestic issues, he was one of my wife's favourite actors. Does that surprise you ?

You following Duck around and having digs all over the forum is bloody irritating mate. Have an opinion in Waterman if you must, but there's no class in turning on people who mention his passing, and his work.

I loved his work, minder and the sweeney were quality. RIP.
