I don’t know what’s worse - that performance or people that are still worried about relegation FFS.

We were pathetic today and that squad needs a massive overhaul.

The performance is worse, the fear of relegation is just an irrational, emotional and angry reaction to this season’s abject capitulation. Is it 5 points from 30?

Just back. Had been hoping for a good result as have written off our last home game so was keen to see something to reassure me I was right to renew our season tickets! Stupid me. Why do I always have this forlorn hope that things will improve?

Didn't bother following the game at all today, was out shopping in Chester.  First time I looked at my phone was while trying on some new 'kegs', we were on 90 minutes and it was one all.   Down to my shreddies, my phone vibrates and instantly without looking I knew what the alert was.   Frankly I can't be bothered to read this thread to see if we 'played well', whether we were 'robbed' or if there were other 'extenuating circumstances'; we are crap.

I've just looked at the premiereship top scorers and nearly every club is represented, but not us.  Even Pukki at Norwich has scored 10 goals.   Can anybody tell me the last time one of our 'strikers' scored because I am struggling to recall.  People keep saying we need massive investment, hate to disappoint you but it won't be coming from this owner either.

Quite how so called professional players can clock off so early in a season is beyond me,  they very obviously are not playing for the manager and that can have only one outcome. We'll limp across the line with yet another spectacular collapse, but come the close season the board need to take some very serious decisions.  Next season could well be a very stern test, total dross yet again.

No other club would lamely accept the performances of the last ten games or so it's not just the defeats it's the manner of them, surely the owners have an ounce of ambition and have someone lined up for next season to inject a bit of hope

Yet a few months ago everyone on here was lauding the CEO interview on the BBC when he explicitly said its not about where we finish in the table.

Can't have it all ways. If you like the CEO's approach, cant complain about being 15th. Its clearly not a measure for the owners. Their measure is more about has enough talent developed to get a profit on sales. Not sure about that at the moment. There are a few KWP, Salisu, Moi and perhaps JWP. But someway to go before bumper pay days on them.

We're safe, so I don't think results are of much concern to the club now.

I really can’t keep doing this. Season after season we have a great run, make ourselves as good as safe, then just stop!

I don’t know if it’s the players or the manager or, and I suspect it’s this one, a combination of both.

Ralph didn’t like Blackmore’s questions on Solent where he basically called him out over the subs coming too late. I think in Ralph world he’s never wrong and that’s a worry cos fuck me he’s wrong - a lot !!!

I can’t believe I’m still watching shite like Nathan effin Redmond wandering around like a spare part. He offered nothing today, pretty much like most of the time. Shane Long up front……he was possibly our best attacker today…..yes it was that bloody bad.

This team don’t give a fuck, the manager isn’t half as good as some people like to think he is.
If the new owners are serious then maybe Ralph should start looking over his shoulder cos this is awful, one win in 12 and let’s face it we should never have won that.

Pathetic.

You do realise the higher we finish more money the club gets?

I think so too. I rated RH but my patience with his obstinate way of not adapting to other team's tactics, the personnel he has, or other teams working us out.

Getting a bit pissed off reading his after match comments where its all about us not having enough money or players. Try working better with what you have. Start with selection. Then add tactics. And reacting to things that happen during games. Or working out other team’s strengths. Swear he just applies the random number generator and then hopes a natty waistcoat will do the rest. Time to change it, Saints.

“You can see how we conceded the first goal, how easy we give it away,” Hasenhuttl said.

“We are in some positions at the moment lacking quality, this is not only for the players who have started but also for the players that are coming on.

“They are far away from the level they have shown and this is the reason why we are not good enough to play what we have shown.”

He continued: “It’s not bad if you have something like that (Zaha as a substitute), I must say I expect more from my guys coming on.

"This is what we are lacking at the moment, Broja is not the same like he has been a few months ago. This is the difference at the moment.

"It is very hard to take but this is the realistic thing that we are always coming into this situation that we can make this up and we fail. Maybe there is a reason for that, and maybe because we are not good enough.”

“We haven’t been exposed, we had fresh players on the pitch and we had a situation where a guy gets the ball around the box with four players around him and can still turn and shoot into the corner,” Hasenhuttl said.

“For me, this is not really a goal situation. Not something where I think, ‘this is getting dangerous’, and we concede a goal.

“I can speak about everything, the shape – the key is that we hardly win games when you concede two goals and that is a fact, and what is different from other home wins this season.”

———————

Now if a new manager came in and said this, I can sympathise… but something needs to give we look fragile at the back and can’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo.

Each week it seems that we say the performance can't get any worse, but yet it does. We were marginally the better team in the first half, despite not offering all that much. Palace no threat in the first half. It was obvious Viera would have sent them out after a bit of a bollocking. Yet again we just didn't react to a team coming out with a different approach and mindset. The second half was as bad as we've seen under Ralph, and there has been some utter shit shows. Half of the team looked uninterested and even the ones that did were still half arsed.

The lack of quality was just painful at times.

Yeah it’s no use him saying that when he’s got three outfield players that he signed for this season sat on the bench. If Tino wasn’t injured it would probably be four (Perraud, Lyanco, Broja, Armstrong) which would be what, nearly £40m of summer expenditure on the bench?

Of course they care about results. The difference between 9th (where we could have finished had we not been shit) and 16th (where we could finish as I don’t see us getting another point) is nigh on £15 million. That’s an entire player’s transfer fee and close to our record signing transfer fee. For a club with owners that aren’t expected to put much of their money in this summer to a club that traditionally sells to buy, £15 million is a hell of a lot of money to miss out on for have a whimpering end to the season.

Yes we won’t go down but our recent form is woeful.

We never created anything in the second half and not surprising with the players we had out there.

He left Redmond on for 95 minutes too long. He just couldn’t be arsed.

I would have liked to have seen Adam Armstrong for a change. He can hardly be criticised for not scoring if he is never given a chance.

Tella made some good runs but lost the ball whenever he came up against a defender.

Long has a role to play but starting the game is not one of them.

Was Che injured? If not, the decision to take him off was weird.

Che Adams was woeful. He kept losing the ball, it was from his loss of possession they scored their first. He should have been hooked 10 minutes before he was.

Ralph with another baffling selection, keeps selecting players who we all know aren’t good enough, we can all see it, why can’t he?

Romeu’s goal will cover up his recent performances but good lord he is bad.

We had one and the fans hounded him out because they thought we were boring.

We’ve lost 13 league games this season. Puel lost 16. If we can nick a draw at Brentford or Leicester, we will have lost fewer games than Puel… without the help of Fonte and Van Dijk for half a season.

When was the last time one of our forwards actually, you know, did what they're paid for and score a bleedin' goal?

To be fair, as much as I think Broja has given up, our service to them has been just as bad.

Harsh to solely blame the strikers, we’re not good enough in every single position on the pitch, baring GK for the past few weeks.

Shane Long should be nowhere near this. He wasn't even good enough for Bournemouth last year yet he's starting games for us now. Laughable.

On that showing, am not sure that any of them are good enough.

I thought Redmond actually put a reasonable shift in. Good defensively but just doesn't offer anything going forward. Adams was poor, constantly lost the ball. He had exactly the same chance as Zaha but messed it up. Taken off too late.

Agree on Tella it looks like he is being coached into Redmond Mark 2.

We could all see what was coming. Palace could sense a winner and went for it. They were bigger, faster, and more committed as the game entered the final quarter. That is when Ralph should have locked it down, taken the draw.

Now ridiculously we are looking over our shoulder.

Exactly this, seems to be that it's excuse after excuse. This guy is paid alot of money to do his job. Is it 7 highest paid manager in the league. Time and time again he makes ridiculous decisions in game and with team selections.

I can only imagine he must be a great coach on the training ground but he's hardly getting the best out of the players he has and brought in. We should have made a change last summer. Also heard a few of the players aren't happy with him, Stuart Armstrong is one of them.

I’m in the Ralph out camp, but the players can well and truly fck off as well.

99% of them have been an embarrassment for the last couple of months, like the manager or not you still have to put a shift in.

Really hope Ralph does the decent thng and pisses off at the end of the season, enough is enough, he's taken us as far as he can and there is no sign of any improvement its time for someone else who at least has a few plans on what to do to actually tatically win games and get the best out of players we have, if he doen't leave just hope the board and the new owners have the balls to do something about it and also spend some money on some decent players would help too and we don't have to suffer some of the medioce second rate dross that we currently have running round on the pitch

He simply takes no responsibility for poor performances. A complete detachment from his tactics, coaching, selection and in game changes. He reports on what he has seen as if an independent reporter.

I believe that in his eyes he thinks he’s doing a great job but the team aren’t

I’m reading that Adam Armstrong left the bench and went down the tunnel when the third sub came on. Is that just Twitter b/s or can anyone confirm?

I thought he was coming on at one point. From where I was sat,it sounded like Ralph was calling him back from his warm up,just before Ely came on. Must have wanted him to run the baths at the whistle
