Good Day,

Disgusting performance from a side that still has problems with the drop, in my 30 years of support i wonder why after i watch players like Adem Armstrong and Janice Bednareks...and the head manager, he cannot be real....he makes me angry and has no plan B for games. Please leave.

Regards

Henri Manie

This all account is about as weak and unfunny as our team right now.

Just highlights how much of a missed opportunity these past few games have been. A bit more effort and common sense from Ralph and the players and we could have finished very strongly. Instead we will be just above relegation zone, hopefully.

It's also very tight in the middle of the table. At £2m per place, a win today would have seen us up in 10th and potentially £10m better off for the start of next season.. Disappointing.

Feeling very angry about that. We were one up against an average side and we manage to somehow lose that. Adam Armstrong should have come on instead of moving players around and changing formation. There's obvious areas where we need to strengthen in the summer. Hope the new owners can see this.

Come on, he picked that plank Redmond, left him on for 90 minutes, took Tella off and  and pushed Redmond  up front instead of giving AA a go.

So your main gripe with him is that he didn’t bring on a player who has two goals this season and last scored 6 months ago?

Looking at the table and the fixtures, 40 points maybe cutting it fine this season, assuming we don’t get any more points, which is possible

There is zero, and I mean zero chance, that Everton will get anywhere near 40.

(although if they beat Chelsea tomorrow I might get a bit worried...)

I guess, along with many others, I've reached the stage this season where I am past caring about the weak efforts of our side. We are the go-to club when opponents have a player who hasn't scored for months, a team that hasn't overturned a one nil deficit or just not won in ages - play us and all that changes. It has become too tiresome and predictable. We now find ourselves perched above just the dross as the rest have now passed us as we go into our annual slump at the end of the season. Only a few more games to suffer.

Leeds will not get 6 more points. Next 3 games, City, Chelsea and Arsenal. Make that 7 points.

The difference between a good squad and a bad one. Long, Redmond and Tella were performing the press well in the first half, causing the Palace defence to make loads of errors. They just don’t have the quality to extend the lead beyond the 1-0 that it was, but they did run themselves into the ground.

Broja comes on, his off the ball play is shocking. On the ball, he’s obviously of a very good quality, but for his physique he never wins a header, so doesn’t give us a focus point or a target up top like Long does and he’s too slow to move on the press, allowing Palace to stroll it out of defence. Armstrong has declined massively this season. He used to be in our top three players, now he just looks well off the pace and Elyounoussi is and always will be Elyounoussi. They bring on their best player of the last how many years, who scores the winner, last years Championship young player of the year and Hughes, who is a tidy player.

And we voted for 5 subs when we aim to make a profit every summer. Palace will fill up those places with some more £15m players.

Fuck; they could be in big trouble.

Still fancy Everton to get out for some reason. Probably because they have decent players, despite the manager being crap.

I think that is because it is Everton. I’m 47 and I have always known them to be in top flight.
oh and on the Leeds points, they really need 7 points to get above us because of their goal difference.

Not my main gripe, just a gripe, one of many.So your main defence is he played Peraud and we didn’t win?

One year our end of season slump will coincide with a poor early and mid season. I wouldn't have much faith in this lot taking on a proper relegation fight.

Ralph will have a lot of persuading to do if he wants to continue at St Mary's.

Your probably right, I’m just a tad pissed at the mo, we were second best from about 30 minutes and didn’t react

No other club would lamely accept the performances of the last ten games or so it's not just the defeats it's the manner of them, surely the owners have an ounce of ambition and have someone lined up for next season to inject a bit of hope

No, my point was that the obvious solution of playing Perraud hasn’t improved us at all. Some people may well prefer it, I’m not saying they’re wrong, but it’s a long way from being the solution to our problems. When your attacking players are any four out of a truly hopeless bunch, playing a left footed left back isn’t going to make all that much difference.

Jesus wept.

You think Everton, Leeds and Burnley - all three of them - are going to get 40 points?

Probably not the best day for an invitation to buy a season ticket which dropped through my letterbox this morning.   The marketing department might not be getting any sales bonuses this week.

I received that too. It did smell nice.

That was a flat performance to say the least, although having said that , we were comfortable until Adams made that shit pass when a break was on to set them rolling for the equaliser.  He was poor today.

Other than the 2 cm s no one was above 6 out of 10 today. Bring on the end of the season , the players are already on holiday

So we finished last season in 15th with 43 points. That was with a paper thin squad and having to use the kids at times - which Ralph used as an excuse. I cant see us matching that with the remaining fixtures this season. He can have no excuses as he has had a bigger squad and injuries have been favourable to us. Simply not good enough.

I've always supported Ralph even after the 9-0s and at other points when it was looking bad. I'm fed up now though

Same. If this is what being in the premier League means season after season I've had just about enough of it. Eeking out enough points just to stay up every year is tedious fucking drivel. Every year for the last 5 I leave it to the last minute to renew my season ticket because the vast majority of trips to St Mary's are just a soul destroying waste of my time.

Get in the fucking bin Saints.

That second half was garbage that's not saying that the first half was that good. We had just over 30% possession but playing it forward and attacking without a multitude of sideways and backwards five yard passes made us look reasonably solid and comfortable. After half time we reverted to our default losing system of passing slowly backwards and sideways. We gave the ball away or were caught in possession time after time. Broja pulled out and let the CP player easily pass him leading to Zaha's goal.

It was comfortable for Palace at the back and they were able to play quick balls to their forwards who caused us all sorts of problems and because of the quick balls we were regularly out of shape and overloaded as we had slowly pushed up and left acres of space clear. I would have thought Chelsea would have taught them a lesson but it obviously hasn't.

We do not have clever ball players at the back who can pass incisively, we have clodhoppers who dither and just pass without aim or meaning but purely to get rid of the hot potato to anybody. As long as we indulge in this so called suedo possession we are just going to surrender matches. The management change players but appear to have no idea that it is the way we play that is causing us to lose far too many games,

Apart from JWP we have nobody who can change a game and lack so much quality. Today may make him think that it really is time to go.🙁

JWP isn't that player. He did it last week which magically made people forget how incredibly ordinary he is the majority of the time.

Terrible, again.

We're starting Shane Long though, the lack of quality in that area is absolutely horrific. Our only decent player, who is now out of form, isn't even ours. The rest of that attack is average at absolute best, if not lower league fodder.

We need huge, huge investment in the summer to overhaul that attack. I do not want to see Long, Redmond, Moussa, Ely etc trying to pretend they can provide an attacking threat at the highest level, as it's painful to watch - honestly, it's enough to send people round the bend. Keep Tella around as squad depth, but his season has been a bit of a disaster all told (injuries haven't helped).

Bednarek for that goal was shockingly bad, but it was kind of just expected. We really need better than him if we're to do anything more than concede every single week.

So yeah, big summer ahead. We can't keep regurgitating the same trash heap players and expect different results, we need a radical overhaul.

I think so too. I rated RH but my patience with his obstinate way of not adapting to other team's tactics, the personnel he has, or other teams working us out.

He is the only one that has got us out of jail in a number of games this season and that is why a number on here are voting for him as fans player of the season. Gareth Southgate has a better opinion of him than you and the vast majority of our fans.

We were hard to beat for a while then he returned to messing the fcuk around with the team as usual like he always does

in all his time here he hasn't a bloody clue what his best team is which is pretty much the basics!

I don't disagree....it doesn't make him good enough for a top team though. If he starts any games at the World Cup I will gladly eat my words. I've got nothing against him I just think he's over-rated apart from taking direct free kicks
