PES Posted 24 January, 2009 Share Posted 24 January, 2009 Tore Pompey a new one (Though he was up against Cranie). Why'd your lot let him go? Thought he looked quality and clearly enjoyed his goal.

Arizona Posted 24 January, 2009 Share Posted 24 January, 2009 Because we gave him a new contract in summer and realised we couldn't afford it a month later. Good thing Lowe's financial nouse makes up for his lack of football expertise eh.
PES Posted 24 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 24 January, 2009 IMO he's a bit lightweight but would give most Premiership team great squad options, he certainly gave your lad Crainie a torrid time. Another good 'un the Saints let get away, Still a thieving little git mind!

A Skate and no mistake, and not up to the mark.

He will be handy in the championship should we need him, however, Glen Johnson he aint.

St Landrew Posted 25 January, 2009 Share Posted 25 January, 2009 IMO he's a bit lightweight but would give most Premiership team great squad options, he certainly gave your lad Crainie a torrid time. Another good 'un the Saints let get away, Still a thieving little git mind! You've said it yourself. He is a bit lightweight, and gets bullied around the pitch a bit, whenever he's played for Saints. He's only been really effective in a Saints shirt about 3-4 games, if memory serves. It's not because he lacks ability or pace - he's got every bit as much as his old teammate Walcott. In fact, in sheer speed, he might even be a tad faster. What he's historically lacked is between his ears. He's finally learning now though, so perhaps he's too good for us. Andy_Porter Posted 25 January, 2009 Share Posted 25 January, 2009 Stern John has only scored twice for City in 15, not really sure he's doing well. Rasiak is doing alright 5 goals from 15 appearances and alot of those as sub.

PES Posted 25 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 25 January, 2009 Get over it. He robbed from some pikey skate barmaids, who cares? Saints legend. Then the Bar really has been lowered if thats what it takes to become a Saints legend in fans eyes? Your old loyal club stalwarts would be turning in their graves. It's still gambling on the hope that someone will be willing to pay sizeable wages to take a very inconsistent player off our hands for the duration of his contract. I know he attracted some attention from some big clubs at the start of last season, but after the injury he barely made an impact and looked like a League 1 player most of the time. I just find it disappointing that we offered a player way over the odds because of 2 months of good form a year ago. Imagine if we'd been unable to ship him out at the start of the season and had to sell/loan Davis to ballance the books. Don't forget at when he first went out on loan, people were offering to drive him up to Sheffield themselves and moaning that he was in the side ahead of Thomson, who is currently playing in League 2. I don't care if he was good yesterday, he has done little of note for us recently and the Blades weren't exactly thrilled with his contribution. I just don't see why we broke the wage bank for him on the off chance that someone might fork out £500k for him.
Corporate Ho Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Thought Dyer looked distictly average TBH. Took the goal well but only got the chance because Cranie let him run free. Was just about the only thing Dyer did all afternoon. Cranie on the other hand was shocking. No pace, no positional sense and didn't see him pass to a blue shirt all afternoon. If he's an example of your youth academy no wonder you're struggling having to play so many of them at the moment

Corporate Ho Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 whare as the examples of your youth academy are doing well in the prem... Well, Gary O'Neil is doing well at Boro and Marc Wilson has looked pretty good in the games he's played for the first team this season. Our academy recently beat Chelsea's 4 - 0 so we're obviously improving.
