Yeah, but if that person is a powerful lunatic trying to disrupt politics in your country for his own gain, then you might want at least to keep an eye on it.

He's posted some bollocks on twitter I believe (I don't have it so don't know for sure) and wants to give money to another complete bellend.

Give me a nudge and wake me up if he does anything meaningful.

You overlooked that he is a senior advisor to Trump. A government minister. Would you be cool with a UK cabinet minister having done that?

The question should be whether I care that an advisor to a President that doesn't preside over the country I live in, should do that.

I don't.

I couldn't give a monkeys about US domestic policy. The issue is that other policy decisions will impact us.

What's the answer to the question? Acceptable behaviour from a cabinet minister? It's a yes or no.

When we see that behaviour from a cabinet minister I'll happily pass judgement.

Until then I'm happy for Americans to be idiots.

“Be cool”, you type like a cross between an American gimp from the mid 90’s, or sometimes change it up to say “Aye” to sound like some Geordie or jock, or type “ain’t” when that’s never the way you speak.

Fake weirdo

For comparison, please show the starting point and the movement. Thanks.

The Macron salute started and finished in about the same position but I’m not sure if anyone measured the angles, hand position etc. How concerned were you when the French premier did it?

Obsession over USA bullshit and wanky daily mail style thick headlines is getting in too many heads in Blighty, even with pretentious posters on football forums

The guy is trying to fuck over numerous western democracies and is being given a huge platform by the US Presdient. It is noteworthy.

I respect people who don’t care or listen to what Musk says or does, but only when genuine because their interest is not there. Not when it comes from a place of superiority of ‘why do you care?’  Some of us aren’t distracted and care what happens and influences society.

I thought you said that what he does really doesn't matter as it doesn't influence much?

I have an opinion on him. He is a colloidal cunt. I wouldn’t overstate his influence  as Twitter demographic is every journalist on the planet who will echo his nonsense so clearly he can determine headlines.
I know many people who no longer go on it and as often I reference my kids for different generational thoughts and they and their mates don’t go near it. Many older people are seeing it as vile unmoderated cesspit as well so have left.

Saying idiotic shit like UK needs another election will clearly get picked up as a story but ultimately is going absolutely nowhere and frankly embarrassing for anyone who latches on as if anything will happen.

The Americans have got exactly what they voted for.

Trump the saggy orange puppet, bankrolled and owned, dancing whenever Musk pulls a string.

Fucking tech genius.........

https://www.404media.co/anyone-can-push-updates-to-the-doge-gov-website-2/

"The doge.gov website that was spun up to track Elon Musk’s cuts to the federal government is insecure and pulls from a database that can be edited by anyone, according to two separate people who found the vulnerability and shared it with 404 Media. One coder added at least two database entries that are visible on the live site and say “this is a joke of a .gov site” and “THESE ‘EXPERTS’ LEFT THEIR DATABASE OPEN -roro.” "

https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/elon-musk-doge-posts-classified-data_n_67ae646de4b0513a8d767112

"Elon Musk’s team at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency has posted classified information about the size and staff of a U.S. intelligence agency on its new website, raising bigger concerns about where Musk’s programmers got this information and what they are doing with it."

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2025/2/14/2303889/-Nope-There-are-no-150-year-olds-on-Social-Security-It-s-COBOL

"Reports say that his group at DOGE is made up of fairly young people.  What those kids don’t realize is that Social Security uses VERY OLD computers.  They’re programmed with an old version of the programming language COBOL.

A bit of history.  On May 20, 1875 a bunch of countries got together to create the International Bureau of Weight and Measures which established uniform standards of mass and length.  Later on, the Bureau established rules for dates as well.  The dates standard used a starting date of May 20 1875 to honor the creation of the Bureau.

Old versions of COBOL use that date as a baseline.  Social Security’s computers use that old version. Dates are stored as the number of days AFTER May 20 1875.

So what happens if Social Security doesn’t know a birthdate?  That field is empty in its records.  Thus that person appears to have a birthday of May 20 1875—about 150 years ago.

That’s why the crack team of youngsters Musk uses found 150-year-old people in Social Security getting benefits.  It’s all really as simple—and as stupid—as that."

Well, collectively they are. I don't think Trump intends to have a free election at the end of his four years and I think he expects Musk to help him with that.

I was going to respond to say this is going too far, much as I despise MAGA, but the more I see of Trump’s executive orders challenging all oversight from Congress to the WH, you may be proved right. The Founding Fathers America is disappearing fast and the American people did this. They are the only people who can stop it.

There is no sensible or justifiable explanation for what they are doing.

They want to dismantle the US institutions and rebuild them as partisan and corrupt. This is exactly what Project 25 said they would do. And is clearly what they are doing.

If they are not taken out, the US will be in years of decline, and there will be a violent revolution in the future.

I don't think I'm exaggerating. I don't think a Western democracy has ever had overtly malign leaders before.

It was already a dangerous country with the amount of guns but it will get far worse still as already very high levels of economic inequality widen dramatically and all of the great work done by the Superfund programme is undone to their natural environment which will kill millions. A reversal of Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring. The EPA was born under the GOP as well.

We can’t affect that, the American public have made their bed. If skilled people and families from Blue states want to relocate to the UK I’m happy to have them though. What we can do is defeat Farage, Tice and Lowe who want Project 2025-type policies here. The Tory party needs ridding of Badenoch, Braverman, Philip, Patel and Truss so they can be detoxified and go back to being a centre-right party. Hopefully they’ll get attracted by Project 2025 and relocate over there where it’s best for them once Badenoch gets voted out by their MPs.

Some sort of voters swap programme would be ideal.

Any Reform voters in UK who want to move to USA get visa and we'll pay for their flights.

Likewise we'll pay for any US voters with IQ above 100 who didn’t want Trump to move over.

Perfec'

It already has "New" York, Jersey, and England, though it might cause issues for the Post Office with additional Manchesters, Lancasters, and even Southampton and P****mouth to add to the delivery rounds.

The news tonight...Educated, intelligent democrat voters looking for new lives in the UK, baffled at rejection. The move has shocked the applicants, all residing in Portsmouth, New Hampshire...

Dumb and Dumber - Trump and Musk both like to spout “alternative facts” when the real facts don’t suit their narratives.

How do you hold an election when 20% of your territory is occupied, 7 million people have fled the country, and any large gathering of people is likely to be targeted for missile and drone attack ?

Perhaps Zelensky should follow the example of Churchill in 1940.

Of course you can’t, what validity would it have anyway? Trump is a reactionary and thin-skinned dickhead, the worst sort who along with his idiot little redneck VP give it out but can’t take anything back. If Zelensky holds one in peacetime and loses, I bet unlike those two fascists in 2020 he accepts the democratic result.
