spyinthesky Posted 26 April, 2022 Share Posted 26 April, 2022 According to a table in Planet Football, Saints wage bill is £44m which fits in exactly with the clubs current League position. At the top is Man Utd with £208m (what value they are experiencing) and at the bottom is Brentford with £12m (tight wads!!!!)

The last official club accounts published in March 2022 show the wage bill to be £113.4 million https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2022-03-20/st-marys-football-group-financial-statement-202021 Edited 26 April, 2022 by Matthew Le God
SNSUN Posted 26 April, 2022 Share Posted 26 April, 2022 Ten Hag must have balls of steel for taking on that train wreck at United. Bringing in quality players is one thing but they need to ship out a crap load first, and there is only a limited amount of time to do it in. Pogba leaving on a free will help, as will Cavani, Lingard and Mata but there's so much work to be done.

Presumably the £113m v £44m includes all the wages costs rather than player costs although the gap between the two is difficult to understand. The £44m is provided by a company by the name of Sportrec and apparently covers the salaries of 26 players broken down, as follows: 1. Goalkeepers £7.3m 2. Defence £6.0m 3. Midfield £12.1m 4. Attackers £18.3m Transfer costs @ £48.5m

Feels like the table is about right but the figures are well off.
