We haven't a clue in the final third...

We were told that Broja is our biggest issue….

Yet every time he doesn’t play, we still create fuck all and still get carved apart at the back, almost as if, like most suspected, he isn’t the biggest issue…

I've lost so much respect and developed a real resentment towards Ralph, this group and even the club (believing our own hype with the myth that is 'The Southampton Way'.

Yet I still come back for more.

HALFTIME.

Nothing more I'd like than to sell at least 2-3 of our centrebacks

I mean ultimately you get what you pay for. If you want a true young talent, you need to pay c. £30m for Fofana as Leicester did, not £10.9m for Salisu.

Our centre-backs cost a combined total of about c. £22m (Salisu 10, Lyanco 7, Bednarek 5, Stephens and Valery 0)

How have we made Welbeck look like a prime goalscorer with his movement I do not know.

Thank the Lord for the JWP free-kick because it has given me a renewed lease of hope, I was close to turning it off.

To be fair to Salisu, he busts a gut to get back into position, which is his undoing as he's stretching.

Why was he busting a gut?

becuase he needlessly dove in as Wellbeck played that first pass so that put him out of play

I just can’t believe we waste our time with two strikers all the time when we don’t create anything at all. Our midfield has been getting torn apart for so long yet we tinker with either 2 up top or 5 at the back but never try and get a grip in midfield.

Am I alone in thinking the Brighton second goal all started because Perraud can't kick with his right foot.

...he certainly looked as slow as a carthorse when Wellbeck ran away from him.

RHs stubbornness had really taken the joy out of supporting Saints. Barely cheered when JWP scored because I know his team talk will have us come out half asleep and concede straight away. Then he'll wait until 78 minutes to throw on a couple of players and expect them to have an impact. Rince and repeat.

Yes exactly what I've been thinking, chasing shadows in the middle most of the time

Was it livramento's knee or his ankle he's done?

CB's haven't been great again.

Romeu has been awful today again too. Need to get diallo on for him.

Pace, That's why we need to play Tella more often.

Adams has looked good. Just a shame he didn't stay on his feet before the early rebound chance.

fair point.

Saints play before and during that move was horrible.

Lots and lot of tiny things (due to a lack of quality) that all add up.  We have not done the basics right - like get the ball from a throw and keep it - all half.

Man, stop being so hysterical. A 'real resentment'. Get a grip. There have been some Saints teams in the past which have been a disgrace. Like what we became under Pellegrino and Hughes. This team isn't the best, but nor should it be with the amount of money we have spent. We go on some really good runs, we go on some really diabolical runs. We are in a diabolical run. But ultimately we've achieved what we needed to this season. We stayed up comfortably, we went on a decent cup run, and got the bonus of new owners which hopefully will mean more funding. Do you have a real resentment for your wife for not making Michelin quality dinners as well?

4-3-3 for me.

Split Tella and Long off of Adams (if we're not making subs). Doesn't seem to be a widely shared opinion, but Tella is at least providing some directness. If Brighton sit deep, we can keep swinging it in for 3 players to attack. If we're countering, there's two fast(ish) players to try to get behind their CBs.

Absolutely shite first half, tactically an absolute mess at the back, very worrying really.

Forster, Romeu, Salisu, Bednarek, are having absolute shockers, and bugger all threat going forward. We're making them look like Man City here....dross.

Thankfully Prowsey has given us a glimmer of hope at HT. Play like that again second half and we have no chance of rescuing a point.
