hypochondriac Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 You have to laugh. Thank goodness we are safe but our team is so weird how we go hot and cold all the time. Looked like world beaters earlier this season and this is just bizarre. Also hilarious that Long still gets in, our team.

obelisk Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Brighton aren't even all that good but they don't need to be when Saints turn up.
skintsaint Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 (edited) GET IN!!! JWP again! Not hit well but dont matter. Edited 24 April, 2022 by skintsaint
Chez Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 To be fair to Salisu, he busts a gut to get back into position, which is his undoing as he's stretching. 1

Monk Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 I've lost so much respect and developed a real resentment towards Ralph, this group and even the club (believing our own hype with the myth that is 'The Southampton Way'. Yet I still come back for more. 4
Saint Fan CaM Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Enough is enough. Ralph really has led this bunch of misfits to new depths of shitness. Times up Ralph…please fall on your own sword.
OttawaSaint Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Hooray...I guess. We'll still lose though. Unless we get more free kicks there...
nta786 Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 HALFTIME. Nothing more I'd like than to sell at least 2-3 of our centrebacks I mean ultimately you get what you pay for. If you want a true young talent, you need to pay c. £30m for Fofana as Leicester did, not £10.9m for Salisu. Our centre-backs cost a combined total of about c. £22m (Salisu 10, Lyanco 7, Bednarek 5, Stephens and Valery 0) How have we made Welbeck look like a prime goalscorer with his movement I do not know. Thank the Lord for the JWP free-kick because it has given me a renewed lease of hope, I was close to turning it off. 2
Kingsland Codger Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Am I alone in thinking the Brighton second goal all started because Perraud can't kick with his right foot.
AlexLaw76 Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 HT dreadful performance. Ralph needs to change it up. Long offers nothing, Redmond/Tella not doing much, awful in the middle of the park of course, the only change will be to go 3 at the back and still surrender the midifield 1
Chez Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Back in it. Got to do far more in the second half. Front two offering little threat and Tella and Redmond not having a huge impact on the game. 1
Chris cooper Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Jwp papering over the extremely large cracks !! 3
Saints foreva Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 HT Another terrible performance from the players and manager. The formation isn't working, its clear as day that we need another body in the middle of that park because Romeu is all over the place. Laughable people on here think that him and Salisu are top half quality. 2

Why was he busting a gut? becuase he needlessly dove in as Wellbeck played that first pass so that put him out of play 1
Nemi Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 I just can’t believe we waste our time with two strikers all the time when we don’t create anything at all. Our midfield has been getting torn apart for so long yet we tinker with either 2 up top or 5 at the back but never try and get a grip in midfield. 2

JRM Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Didn't our new owners say they had already identified Ralph's replacement? 1
OttawaSaint Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 (edited) RHs stubbornness had really taken the joy out of supporting Saints. Barely cheered when JWP scored because I know his team talk will have us come out half asleep and concede straight away. Then he'll wait until 78 minutes to throw on a couple of players and expect them to have an impact. Rince and repeat. Edited 24 April, 2022 by OttawaSaint 1 1 1

Yes exactly what I've been thinking, chasing shadows in the middle most of the time 1
Matty's Caddy Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 I’m sat here bored watching another inept performance. Couldn’t wait for the half to end from 25 mins. sorry Ralph, not for me any more 2
Baird of the land Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Was it livramento's knee or his ankle he's done? CB's haven't been great again. Romeu has been awful today again too. Need to get diallo on for him. Pace, That's why we need to play Tella more often. Adams has looked good. Just a shame he didn't stay on his feet before the early rebound chance. 1
JRM Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Is Salisus fasting impacting him? If no food or water you can't really play to your best
Sarisbury Saint Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 To be fair I think Chez is doing alright.

Saints play before and during that move was horrible. Lots and lot of tiny things (due to a lack of quality) that all add up. We have not done the basics right - like get the ball from a throw and keep it - all half. 2

Yet I still come back for more. Man, stop being so hysterical. A 'real resentment'. Get a grip. There have been some Saints teams in the past which have been a disgrace. Like what we became under Pellegrino and Hughes. This team isn't the best, but nor should it be with the amount of money we have spent. We go on some really good runs, we go on some really diabolical runs. We are in a diabolical run. But ultimately we've achieved what we needed to this season. We stayed up comfortably, we went on a decent cup run, and got the bonus of new owners which hopefully will mean more funding. Do you have a real resentment for your wife for not making Michelin quality dinners as well? Edited 24 April, 2022 by sydney_saint 8
Donatello Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 4-3-3 for me. Split Tella and Long off of Adams (if we're not making subs). Doesn't seem to be a widely shared opinion, but Tella is at least providing some directness. If Brighton sit deep, we can keep swinging it in for 3 players to attack. If we're countering, there's two fast(ish) players to try to get behind their CBs. 2
davefizzy14 Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 (edited) Hopefully we can now kick on after half time and get an equaliser! Prowsey is just sublime we will be fired up now and even more so for Tino. I'd like to see Adam Armstrong come on shortly - COYR Edited 24 April, 2022 by davefizzy14
Saint Garrett Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Absolutely shite first half, tactically an absolute mess at the back, very worrying really. Forster, Romeu, Salisu, Bednarek, are having absolute shockers, and bugger all threat going forward. We're making them look like Man City here....dross. Thankfully Prowsey has given us a glimmer of hope at HT. Play like that again second half and we have no chance of rescuing a point. 1

northam soul Posted 24 April, 2022 Posted 24 April, 2022 Ralph was more furious about having to make a sub after half an hour then Tino getting injured. Don’t expect another until 75 minutes.
