Anyone thinking of going to this? Just checked ticket availability... Not many left but seems they're only selling tickets in the Itchen at the moment. Perhaps they'll open up another stand if more of us try to buy tickets?

What chance this turning into a punch up like the youth fixture a few years ago?

Probably quite likely given their fans need to buy tickets through the Saints site and are just advised which block to buy, but can buy tickets anywhere. And the supposed away block is just 2 blocks away from home fans block being used. I think the club are underestimating the fixture a bit.

Don't recall a punchup at the youth match anyway, they were on the other side of the stadium.

Should be fun Weds anyway, any chance to abuse the Skates got to be taken.

Only remember a single lad trying his luck in darting towards us; their fans were placed directly opposite, so it was a bloody long trek round.

He made it about halfway before bottling it (or the stewards catching him?) if memory serves.

Anyway, yes - I've rounded up a small group for this one. Keep meaning to head over to Totton for some matches but life's been conspiring against.

Seemed worth the extra effort given where it's being played, the opponents and the situation in the league!

Your memory is correct although I wouldn't say he was 'darting'. He was slowly ambling across several blocks of empty seats for ages and then one of our lot started walking towards him. The Pompey fan got slower and slower as he saw he was getting near the Saints fans and fell into the arms of 2 stewards when he was about halfway across the empty stand. Then the Saints fan, who'd gone out to meet him, spat on him as he was being led away, which was a bit unnecessary. But it certainly couldn't be described as a 'punch up'.

That FA Youth Cup game was the second time I saw a Saints team beat a Pompey team 7-0. The first time was when our first teams met in the John Milkins Testimonial at Fratton Park and poor John Milkins was in goal for Pompey.

There certainly won't be any hooliganism at a women's football match but there is a chance the result might be another 7-0.

I hope you're right and think you probably are right, but don't rule it out from the weirdo neanderthals from Portsea Island who might fancy an evening out (in the interests of balance, there are a few idiots on our side too).

I expect this will be a chapter in their new book about how a single Pompey fan saw off an entire stadium of scummers on his own who all bottled it because they dont have the passion Pompey fans do.

Not aware of any issues at the corresponding game at Fratton Park earlier in the season, and the away fans were in the Fratton End with the great unwashed :uhoh:

There is absolutely no way i could go near fratton without a giant wedge of benali stickers to leave in my wake.

Got a ticket but I can’t get there till 7.15pm now.

Any tips for parking near the ground please, Coming in from the M271 part.

I imagine you'll be able to park on the street in St Mary's no problem. It probably won't be designated as a stadium event day and I think parking bays only run until 6pm.

Just went on to get tickets and it says this event is no longer available, surely they will open up more blocks ?

Probably other families having a look being the school holidays who now won't go , seems a shame to miss the chance to get a decent crowd in

I went to print out tickets yesterday and realised I had been distracted before completing the purchase last week - so, thankfully now, got them yesterday afternoon.

Maybe if it sold out late on yesterday they need to organise the necessary stewarding cover numbers etc before opening another block for sale. Be a shame to miss out on possible walk ups - which is invariably what we do at Snows Stadium when we are able to attend: pretty sure we are not the only 2.

They've put two more blocks on sale now so plenty available

Cheers, I remember reading Pompey fans were advised to sit in block 12 so hopefully won't end up too close to Westwood and his bell

There's no segregation?

Feel like that's a mistake. There'll always be at least one dickhead turning up to make some nuisance.

Does seem a tad odd to put block 13 on sale which now means that Pompey fans in block 12 will likely be sandwiched between two blocks of Saints fans. Hey ho... I'm sure they know what they're doing.... ;)

Be a bit of a Rum do if something kicks off - but then they do have the first female to get a footballing offence and also the youngest person with the same badge within their ranks. Pretty sure Hampshire Plod will have had an ear to the ground.

We might have to rely on the OS letting us know the score well after the game has finished, if previous games are anything to go by.

There is separate twitter account that gives live updates for the women's team...

Saints Facebook - Answered that question apologetically in a post. Think the Twitter feed might be a bit more active.

What, someone might log in to it?! Can’t get much more inactive than it often is during a match. Who knows, the OS might get their game together too.

Outside looks like a decent crowd for this level. Even some Pompey fans in the Chapel Arms, but fortunately, they tell, no Westwood. Thank goodness, _they_ said!

Surprised how many are here.

Saints band creating a nice atmosphere outside but the obvious thing you spot once you get in is the Pompey squad look like school girls compared to our ladies.

Maybe they are the Pompey mascots warming up :D
