More of a 4411 with Che, Smallbone, moi and Armstrong all playing in the same space. Regardless, it’s not working so needs to change. 1
Pamplemousse Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Salisu has been immense this season but he's had an utter shocker. Worst centre back performance since Bennett at home to Palace on the first day of the season about 15 years ago? 1

bpsaint Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Stadium announcer at it again, playing Sugar We’re Going Down by Fall Out Boy at HT. 1
Charlie Wayman Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Very lazy display from Salisu cost us both goals, stick a rocket up his backside Ralph. WTF is Smallbone doing up top get SArmstrong off and AArmstrong on.

Holmes_and_Watson Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 If Smallbone was in the side to give us more chances to break them down in the final third, it might be the tactic for the second half. Although they'll look for a counter, Watford will be focusing on being compact. We'll need more creative players in there. That said, I'd not mind seeing AA and later Djenepo on there a bit sooner than we saw last time out. Becuase we lacked drive and directness for a lot of that half, and we're going to need to drive at them at some point, and not pass it around in front of them.
Jonnyboy Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Salisu and Romeu looking very leggy to me. (and not as in "hot, leggy blonde") 1

LuckyNumber7 Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Get Broja on for Smallbone, we look far too lightweight in attack. Getting vibes of the Burnley home game last season though, 0-2 to 3-2... 1

Big second half needed, get Smallbone off, he just doesn't do anything when he's on the pitch. He really has contributed nothing young Smallbone. Got to get Broja on. We look so sluggish, no runs, all static, not enough pace in the side. Change it please Ralph. Defending has been Tyro league, pissing about at the back, crap balls, poor decisions, Salisu playing like he wants to stay next season - eg crap and no one looking at him will be impressed! 1

Norm Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Salisu off for second half. Think he needs a break. Mid you, we have been weak in the center of defence for several seasons.

I hope Watford can feel that way by the end of today. 1
Pamplemousse Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 We've just got to blitz them quickly at the start. Sadly we can't string two passes together 1
badgerx16 Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 From the BBC "Southampton, seemingly blinded by Ralph Hasenhuttl’s soccer science, were playing with no clue of how to construct their attacks. " 1 1
BotleySaint Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 I've missed the first half. Summary on BBC says: Quote Southampton have been mostly shambolic during that first half. They get their lifeline late on. Southampton, seemingly blinded by Ralph Hasenhuttl’s soccer science, were playing with no clue of how to construct their attacks. They blundered their way through the first 35 minutes, conceding two really poor goals. Is that a fair assessment of what I missed?
OttawaSaint Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 There's probably a forum expert somewhere who trashed Ronaldo in his first season at Utd but still holding onto it. "Damn 807 flukes, he won't be so lucky next season, then I will finally get the recognition I deserve!!!".

HKsaint Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Is it because Salisu is negotiating a contact with us?
nta786 Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Not the best quality but this might stop you guys fighting over what formation we have been playing.
AlexLaw76 Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 Just now, BotleySaint said: I've missed the first half. Summary on BBC says: Is that a fair assessment of what I missed? Abject performance really... offering very little in attack in open play and wide open to their long ball counters. Could have (should have) been 0-3 before we got 1 back. 1

Sheaf Saint Posted 13 March, 2022 Posted 13 March, 2022 I'm hoping to see Broja give us a reaction to being dropped from the starting lineup. A few signs that he had got a bit complacent recently so hopefully this will show him he's not yet undroppable and needs to earn his place.
