The view from some of the United match going fans in the office is that they are playing ok but not taking chances. Also had a couple of debatable VAR decisions go against them.  They fancied the win today but were a lot less confident than in previous years especially after I waxed lyrical on how good we were against Spurs.

Fans at the game are behind the manager but may get restless if we go ahead.

I hate to say this but I fear some on here may be getting a tad over excited.

Utd have some magnificent players. McTominay can out run all our players with ease. Plus he is supported by Pogba and Fernández. 

One false move and they are past our midfield and it will be Ronaldo v Bendarek. 

I'm not being defeatist. Their defence is equally as wobbly as ours,  but they will put serious talent on that pitch. If it clicks then Saints will be over powered.

I expect blood and thunder from Saints, and maybe a draw. That would be a fabulous result in itself.

Yes I'm managing my expectations..... I've learnt to.

I fear our defending from set pieces in this one with their aerial threat.

Nonetheless I reckon we can scrape a draw if we play well. It'll be a tough one, though - head says 3-0 to Manchester.

I do hope nobody on here plays the 9-0 drinking game. You'll be in a coma by 11am.

Jesus, only been up 20 minutes and I'm absolutely bored shitless by the crap reporting, and the constant word jizz coming from Sky.

Shall we try adding some context......

We put out a team when others would have been begging for a postponement.

We suffered the fastest ever red for a reckless challenge from a over excited debutant. 

We also suffered another red, which was later recinded.

Dean & Mason combo. Enough said.

Perhaps our players will be as annoyed with the talk......lets hope so

Looking at the line up, Kayne Ramsay, we even had a player called  Tchaptchetat who seems to have given up football since?! Blimey doubt there's been a weaker team in Premier league history

Got to be this for me. I was more optimistic about today before weds but since weds I’ve started thinking banana skin mainly, due to rising expectations. That from many years supporting Saints is when you get kicked in the goolies

Don’t be silly everyone knows we had a team only bettered by MCFC & PSG. That’s why it was such a spectacular result for little ol’ MUFC.

A win would be a great redemption story, but maybe asking a bit much. I'd take a point, they have lots of dangerous players and are very effective on the break so don't even need to play that well just get a couple of breaks on us and we'll concede. Plus we need to take out chances better, we should have been comfortable against Spurs. 

We'll have to see, if we play like we did against Spurs then we will trouble them whatever, if they are not up for it then there is a chance. 

 To be honest I think just keep up the good performances, whatever the results, so we can keep in form for whenever we play Newcastle because I really want to beat them.

If we play with the intensity of Wednesday night then Man U won't enjoy it.

But, we all know there will be at least one shit refereeing decision to take the wind out of our plucky sails.

A lot is going to come down to the line ups of both sides but lets be realistic, Utd as a team are still very very much able to best anybody of their day, and we will need to be on Wed night levels again imo to beat them

They are coming off the back of a poor showing against Burnley, one in reality they should have won

They still create some of the most chances in the prem, so we’ll need to be on our game defensively and hopefully someone like Adams can occupy Maguire enough to allow Broja to make those runs in behind

I think it could come down to who scores first, an early Saints goal should allow the Old Trafford faithful to get on top of them

Like many have said, it feels like a free hit, If happily walk away with a draw I think, but Id love to pour more misery on this lot

Tchaptchet joined Grenoble Foot 38 in French Ligue 2 in January 2022. He was a free agent and signed a two and a half year deal at the Stade des Alpes.

Didn’t we finish off at The Dell by beating United and Arsenal consecutively in our last two games? Everyone remembers Arsenal but I think United was the game where Pahars looked about 20 yards off but wasn’t.

Exactly this. Man U are due an upturn in form and we have higher expectations. 4 - 1 to Utd to put us back in our place. Hope not obviously. COYS.

I remember this match being shown to us at school on an old projector screen as and end of term treat,This was the match when Sir Matt Busby described Ron Davies at "the best CF in Europe"...

Moi looked to be cramping up a bit to me on Wednesday so it’ll be interesting how much he has left in the tank. Happy with the unchanged team though, a point would be great.

In the seventies you could play eight games a week on mud bath pitches in Steel boots after double egg and chips and twelve pints of mild.

For the first time in my life I’m confident that we’re going to go to Old Trafford and not lose.

Probably finish 3-0 but hey it’s nice not to feel a huge cloud of dread for once.
