So many good performances tonight it's hard to single anyone out, but I'd like to give special mentions to...

JWP - an absolute masterclass of a performance and two outstanding assists

Elyounoussi - finally looked like the player we thought we were signing

Perraud - take a bow son. Had to wait for his chance to make the LB slot his own but made himself undroppable tonight.

I mean JWP got two assists and was pretty fantastic...

I suppose he rarely misses a game so yeah I get that. I just think that Stu is perfect for our system and the balance is affected so much when he isn't there.

I walked off away from the tv to grab something after the 'equalizer' to make it 3-3, came back, gutted, watched the final few minutes of us hanging on for the 'draw'. Final whistle and Ralph going mental?? scoreline still 2-3. 😀 silly billy.  get in!

Stuart Armstrong is definitely our most important player. I don't think anyone can really deny that. The win % stats with and without him are incredible.

Similar with FF

how we played McCarthy above him to start the season is just ridiculous

how we have offered McCarthy a contract above him is even worse

Our improvement in form seems to have coincided with FF being back between the sticks.

Or am I wrong?

You're not wrong. I think it's a bit of the confidence that he gives the defence, plus the defence getting more confident, and Salisu blossoming.

Benali is actually a pretty good and fair pundit

Conte not giving us much credit. Or any to be honest. Should do as we bossed it overall.

For years we’ve been forced to lament the players we’ve lost, but now it’s turning into an advantage. We couldn’t have played like that in a million years with Vestergaard, Bertrand and - especially - Hojberg in our line up. In fact, it really helped us tonight that Hojberg was in THEIR lineup. 😂

The squad improvement is quite stunning.

This. Dreading him being fit.

What a great performance for the team, good selection from RH...

We were so good with the ball, a threat each time we went forward and I think having Stu back to near his best takes us to a different level.

We bossed it and I loved it... COYR

I honestly had no strong opinion either way of Conte before tonight.

But now he has established himself firmly in my "disingenuous prick" pigeon hole.

Why? He's not going to get back in with Forster doing alright and Caballero's good performance on Saturday.

Forster has been better than McCarthy every time he's played since he came back from Celtic, but that didn't stop Ralph picking McCarthy in every league game he was fit for.

I hope not. Ralph seems to really like him. Mystery.

He is very important to our team moving forward, one of the most positive players on our team and that allows others more space. We are a different proposition when he plays.

Conte can't bring himself to admit we outplayed his side. That performance by us hurt him so much - you could see it in his eyes. He's asking himself how a team like Southampton can come to his ground and wipe the floor with his players. His demeanour spoke volumes and it was a joy to watch him stumbling through that interview with about as many answers as his team had for us on the field.

Whey hey! Just back from the pub in a PO area, after same number of beers as goals, and the last one was particularly sweet as it was bought by a Pompey fan and ex-Moneyfields player!  We'd had a good chat generally about football and all in all a cracking evening. Fortunately the other clientele accepted my apologies for some occasional bad language!

Best performance I’ve seen from us in my recent memory. To a man. Very much deserved.

Need to tidy up in front of goal, glad it didn’t cost us today. Easy win Saturday if we play like that.

Outstanding.

Only criticism would be that Hasenhuttl didn't walk up to Conte with his finger over his lips after the way that bloke with the embarrassing hair transplant acted after going 2-1 up. We outplayed the cheats, the referee and got the result the match deserved.

JWP is a Van Dijk money player now, considering how much goals and assists are worth today. We should try those crosses more often, both were right on the money and we were right not to sell him for £50m to Aston f**king Villa in the summer.

Perraud's found his feet now after looking a bit Cedricy early doors. Hit the bar again, similar to the one against Wolves. If he can keep those long range shots up and turn some into goals, that would be very handy. Stuart Armstrong is finding his form again, such an effective player. Him and Broja are just so direct and attack minded and its the perfect trait to have as a footballer, rather than turning and playing the safe pass, which are eventually easy to defend.

The takeover has seemed to lift the club on all fronts without many changes, which is what we wanted. We've broken back back into the top 10 of the Premier League, which is pretty remarkable considering we've had a bottom three net spend for a good few years now.

Up the Saints. This is why we support Southampton.

Can't believe Hasenhuttl dared to play 4-2-2-2 again. What an absolute muppet. Will he never learn? We all know that formation is complete garbage and never gets us any points.

Joke of a manager, should have been sacked after the two 9-0 losses. Only a noddy club like Southampton would stick with him after that.
