May I be the first to point out that we are currently 25to1 to win the fa cup. (Bet 365)

After our performance last night, our record this season against Man City and our showings against Chelsea I don't think that we should fear anybody.

I am not saying that we are going to win the trophy but we are not the outsiders that 25 to 1 would imply.

Long way to go. With the cup you're in with a chance up until the point you're not, and our next round is pretty tough.

If we get a favourable draw for the quarters (there are a decent number of lower down teams left in) then at least we can dream about another Wembley semi.

Looks like we're giving West Ham the whole Northam, same as Coventry , prices a bit more this time I don't think this will be as popular as less families will go midweek

Absolute f**king joke, giving the whole of the Northam away again when we don’t need to. It’ll sound like the Boleyn now.

Yes it is a f**king joke. we never used to give fans the whole end in the cup . We used to have saints fans in block 40 and part of block 41 in cup games.

Is there a choice?  We have to give the Cup match larger allocation so this and having to have a gap between home and away fans means that they get the whole of the Northam and there is no option?

We used to give the normal away allocation plus block 42 and a tiny bit of block 41, rest of Northam stayed as it was.

They seem to prefer creating more segregation leaving block next to Itchen North empty and giving up whole end to away fans

Certainly a long way to go, but home draws can't be sniffed at as it gives us a great chance to get to the last 8. From there anything can happen to be honest.

We've put ourselves in a great position whereby we can go a bit stronger in these games if we wanted to as well.

As others have said they used to get a bit of Block 41 and the rest of the Northam. I was lucky enough that for the big cup games when teams got the full 15% I never had to move from my seat in Block 41, but I would end up about 3 seats from the away fans. The noise we made in the Pompey FA cup games, or the 2003 run show how stupid it is of the club to hand over that noise advantage to the away fans.

Bit of a ropey screen grab but this shows what SMS looked like with 15% Skates in 2009.

I hope the players are sensing just how big of a opportunity this game is. Get through this round and we'll give anyone a game in the next. No fear.

Looking forward to watching WHU struggle against Wolves tomorrow while we enjoy our extra long rehabilitation.

This game is ours to lose. I'm not even too bothered about 5-6 changes for Villa at the weekend.

West Ham have sold out now, plenty in the home end too supposedly

I'd be surprised if there are many, they're all too busy booking up for Seville and saving their pesatas for that. Don't know why we don't just give them a few more hundred tickets rather than leaving empty seats in the Northam.

West Ham really should be aiming for

Top 4

Europa league

Fa cup

In that order so with many fixtures coming up let's hope it works in our favour.

Umm, that would be Everton vs Boreham Wood. Our match is close to 50-50 I'd say.

Depends what team West Ham put out but yes, this will be a very tough game for us.

Imagine there will be quite a fee changes for both teams.

West Ham have looked tired for a few weeks now and Saints have players who really need game time, Armstrong, Diallo, Stephens etc

Against Villa, for sure. For West Ham, which is an infinitely more important match, the only change I would make is Perraud for Tino, and move KWP to the right. Possibly Stephens for Bednarek if push comes to shove.

West Ham are very dangerous from set-pieces and we need to ensure that our team selection reflects that.

Against Norwich, Tino marked Gibson the Norwich centre half. He isn't as dangerous as Hanley but I think it reflects on the trust Ralph has on Tino's defensive abilities against set-pieces that he was given that duty. Tino has the height and physicality that KWP and Perraud just don't possess. So from my perspective, I would keep Tino in against West Ham - plus he has had good games against Everton and Norwich creating 2 assists. We should find a way to bring Perraud back in against Villa. I quite liked the late experiment of KWP playing in front of Tino against Man U and it could be considered if Ralph decided that S Armstrong needed a rest.

I've always felt that Bednarek was stronger than Stephens in the air, so for the same reasons as above, I'd keep Bednarek in the team. I seem to recall that Ralph played 4-1-4-1 against West Ham for the two earlier games this season, so it wouldn't completely surprise me if he had a slightly more defensive set-up than the usual 4-2-2-2. Maybe a back 3 ?     I don't pick the team, but if I did, I wouldn't change the players or the formation from the Norwich game - we have confidence at the moment in our own style so if we have to make enforced changes due to tiredness leave that for the Villa game.

WHU playing what is probably their strongest team against Wolves this afternoon. They go to Anfield after our midweek fixture the following week.

I'm hoping that they opt to throw the FA Cup this season, with where they are in the League as well as Europa League, it should be their lowest priority?

I guess we shall see, even Antonio has admitted things have recently been a bit stale for them and they look burnt out.

Let's not forget it took a 120th minute goal against non-League Kidderminster to go through.

Strongest team for Wednesday, need to make sure we are loud as WHU fans will have the whole Northam to spur them on.

Strongest team possible for this one please Ralph, which I guess would mean the same as the last two games unless someone has some fatigue or a niggle. The games against Everton and Norwich were so comfortable that I'd be surprised if there's any fatigue.  We are in a state of flow at the moment so I'm guessing Ralph will only make changes if the medical team recommend it.

Yes I think you are correct I am fairly confident we can win as WH will be trying to get as high as possible in the PL as their chances of winning the cup like ours are small with the team still likely to be in the QF

Of course our position in the PL is important but arguably not as important as West Ham's

Good points well made. You've convinced me on no changes from the Norwich starting line up.

God, like us all I would love to see us lift that special tin pot at Wembley in May. It would be so amazing. 🤔

Given Her Maj vowed to never present the FA Cup again if Saints ever won it, I think it would be fitting to win it again in her platinum jubilee year.
