Home tie, tick. Avoided a potential banana skin, tick. Not unhappy with this draw and will be delighted if we can knock WH out of the cup.

I’m surprised you haven’t blamed the tories for us not getting Peterbourgh st home

It is amazing the draws always favour Man City

Out of interest what draw would not favour Man City. If you are the best team any draw is favourable. I guess Liverpool away might be considered difficult for them, or Saints home or away, but otherwise an unfavourable draw is not very likely.

I don’t know if I would have preferred this tie away, WHU will generate a loud atmosphere, perhaps even larger than if they were at home.

Before our win over these on Boxing Day, we hadn’t beaten then in the last 8.

However, we play on the Friday night, they play on a Sunday afternoon, so this game will definitely be on the Wednesday.

We will have 2 more days of recovery too, so no reason not to play our strongest team.

West Ham continue to piss me off. I lost money on their flukey get out of jail goal by Rice yesterday after having a few quid on Kidderminster, then again by their flukey get out of jail goal in the last minute of extra time. Poor Kidderminster. Then I got home from work and said to the wife that I bet we get West Ham in the next round now and I bet they bloody fluke a win against us. And sure enough, there it is. 🙄 F%cking West Ham - I'd have loved us to face Kidderminster. Hey ho. If we're going to win the thing we have to beat what's in front of us.

The only thing I cling to is that, after Antonio, they seem to have sod all up front and they didn't rectify that in the window, so maybe that will come back to haunt them. Bonus is that we're at home I guess.

EDIT - Just seen the potential dates midweek and I can make it. So at least I can tell West Ham they suck to their faces. (From a great distance across the pitch in amongst a sea of 26k voices, from behind a face mask lest I get a beating).

Suspect the rozzers are already calculating their overtime payments for this one.

5,000 West Ham fans in town.

And don’t forget the 10-15,000 skates fans who’ll just turn up for a punch up

Old bill will not be at all happy with that draw. 5000 away fans on a Wednesday night. Cor blimey guvnor.

Yep. Was there always these tedious conspiracy theories on cup draws? See it all the time online, other fans thinking it's rigged for big clubs, big clubs thinking it's rigged specifically against them.

It's amazing to be that paranoid and that boring with your conspiracies. I'm sure UEFA and the FA take the risk of rigging it all to help the clubs who'd probably win anyway. And what would be rigging it? Big club small club? Or big club v big club for viewing figures?

It's so bizarre.

It's no conspiracy. But I can't help but feel a bit resentful that the billion quid squad seems to regularly get easier draws.

Look at the last five years FA Cup

21/22 Swindon (a), Fulham (h), Peterborough (a)

20/21  Birmingham (h), Cheltenham (a), Swansea (a), Everton (a), Chelsea (semi)

19/20 Port Vale (h), Fulham (h), Sheffield Wed (a), Newcastle (a), Arsenal (semi)

18/19 Rotherham (h), Burnley (h), Newport (a), Swansea (a), Brighton (semi), Watford (final)

17/18 Burnley (h), Cardiff (a), Wigan (a)

If you take from the quarter finals and earlier, how often are they playing even a mid table EPL team, let along a top 8 kinda side? Just a bit annoying cos we could do with a run of fixtures like that.

Especially after a few pints of pigs ear and marching down the frog and toad with their china plates but they’ll just be full of pony and trap or be just big wet horse and carts.

We have Norwich home on Friday before and Vila away weekend after.

wet spam have wolves home Sunday before and Liverpool away weekend after.

hopefully they will make a few changes but agree strongest team for us.

I think West Ham will also have Europa league the week afterwards,  not sure if that will help but they will have other distractions

I’m guessing it can only be the Tuesday or Wednesday and it can’t be some silly Thursday or Friday night match if selected for tv?

Think it has to be Wednesday. West Ham play Sunday before so won't be Tuesday,  don't think we'd play Thursday with Villa away on the Saturday surely they won't move that.

Depends on TV contract I guess. They'll want Liverpool/ Chelsea/ Manchester City games

Exactly this. Obviously not a conspiracy but annoying none the less. Not as if they need any help in reaching finals

That is probably the most flexible game and one I’d imagine they’d look to move (unless it is sold for live tv coverage somewhere else in the globe) if need be.

They would only have to move our Villa game if they wanted to show our cup game on the Thursday night, I can't see that. Looking back at the 5th round last year they played some games at 6pm and some at 8pm for tv, but that might just be because behind closed doors , I'm sure we played Wolves in an early game

No I’m sure it isn’t but I used to have a lot more confidence in the draw being above question when it was from Lancaster Gate (on radio) and you’d be told of the blazers completing the draw “ Dr Lionel Smart will draw the home teams and …,”.

Unfortunately in the age of ‘celebrity’ they must have a recognised face doing it for the cameras.

Seem to remember that such upstanding pillars of the game such as Terry Venables and ‘Arry helping make the draw in previous years.

Wtf is wrong with some people? Bloke has booted an animal for what looks like pure enjoyment. Sick.

Odd behaviour and also odd filming it and putting it out for public viewing, he'll claim he was playing with it.

Last train from central to London at 10pm, they really need to sort this for midweek games.

I'm ok heading East on the Brighton train, but only just if it's an 8pm k.o. and significant injury time, and not if there is extra time..

Handy for those getting the train home, if West Ham bring 5000 should lay on a proper old school football special train

May I be the first to point out that we are currently 25to1 to win the fa cup. (Bet 365)

After our performance last night, our record this season against Man City and our showings against Chelsea I don't think that we should fear anybody.

I am not saying that we are going to win the trophy but we are not the outsiders that 25 to 1 would imply.

There are still 16 teams left. Yes some are lower division teams, but we have to play a strong PL league team to get through to the quarters, and Liverpool, City, and Chelsea (all avoiding each other) probably await in the next rounds, along with other PL teams. I wouldn't say 25 to 1 is outrageous (also figuring in the bookie markup).
