it sounds like Bednarek and possibly Romeu are on there way

Bednarek needs to be replaced with a guaranteed starter who can lead the defence and partner Salisu - so it needs to be someone who has a good amount of first team experience.  I like the look of Caleta-Car but could we persuade him to leave Champions League football at Marseille.  If Forest don't make it through the play-offs Joe Worral would be another one to consider (at 25 and as Forest captain he would hopefully give some leadership on the pitch).

Those 2 plus Colwill on loan from Chelsea to replace Stephens (and send Simeu out on loan to championship) would be a good depth at centre back.

If Romeu does go we should take a look at Matt Grimes at Swansea - a left footed defensive midfielder and deep lying playmaker he would make a good partner for JWP  - and at 25 and captain of Swansea he would hopefully give some leadership on the pitch as well.

Is John Swift  (25) on a free transfer from Reading worth a look to provide cover and depth at CM/AM with some experience? Although he was born in Pompey so it might be a no go on that.

Ethan Ampadu might be another one to look at to provide depth and cover at centre back, DM and RB. Allowing KWP to provide cover at LB for Perraud.  Or maybe we should taker a look at Josh Doig at Hibernian for left back cover.

Brennan Johnson would be an obvious one for the AM position if Forest don't get promoted. Tino Anjorin from Chelsea is another we have shown interest in.

I'd also take a look at Joel Piroe at Swansea for the AM / Second Striker / Inside Forward roles and Viktor Gyokeres at Coventry at centre forward to replace Long and Broja.

I wholly agree with the bolded sentence - excellent player and puts its about also :toppa:

Annual reminder for everyone on this thread - it's a much more enjoyable experience if you put MLG on ignore, you can always manually expand his posts if you wish to read his asinine non-contributary comments.

Hell be looking up the full meaning of the word 'asinine' as I type.

The article is essentially random musings. They are plucking numbers of ins and outs from the air and haven't a clue what the club will do this Summer.

True, but I couldn't argue with their general discussion on the weaknesses and what needs improving, and I think they laid it out well.

May be completely delusional but I think Bale could potentially be a decent acquisition for us this summer…

Not sure if we could get it done but he’s available on a free and the papers seem to be linking him to the likes of Cardiff and Forrest so his current wage demands may night not be too bad! Can cover set pieces if Prowsey gets injured or (god forbid) leaves, and with his pace inevitably diminishing with age, he may be a good shout at left back! Good bit of experience for the squad and is another one of those senior players than can show a clear pathway to the youngsters we’re bringing in from other teams/ those we’re convincing to stay in our academy.

Again, I know nothing about the workings of saints’ financial situation/ our transfer policy but would be a shame to see him go to another team in a similar position to us!

Blimey. It actually happened. Perisic joins a Prem side. He's been linked with various Jose managed teams every window for god knows how many years. Is he still good or has he passed his best? I thought Sessegnon had that left side sewn up for next season, but good competition now.

Bit of an odd one but was thinking about Moukoko of Dortmund, under 19 years old I think. One year remaining on contract, despite bursting onto the scene as a 16 year old has largely lost out on many game opportunities.

Very ambitious I know 😂

He'll surely be playing for Dortmund more next season now Haaland has left. Has been injured this season which is why he hasn't played much.

Still light years ahead of anything we have

That goes without saying. The context of the post was in relation to his signing for Spurs and whether it's a good move for them or not.

Can we stop with the English keeper obsession? Pope is shit

He's not shit at all. I don't understand how you arrived at that opinion.

Will we sign him? Probably not, I imagine he'll go to a bigger club.

Behave. If in the unlikely event we did sign him he’d be our best keeper since Niemi. Very good keeper who is miles better than what we’ve got (not saying much I know) he’ll have better offers than us im sure

Given that Bale is heavily linked with Cardiff, I don't actually think it's that deluded to think we could sign him.

This maybe more realistic ....IF Wales qualify for the World Cup and then he will need some game time at Prem. level to get upto speed.

IF Wales lose out - he will likely go to the USA with all the other " former greats ".

I dont think he is good enough for the very top teams in England as he is useless passing out the ball. So our level of club is probably his best bet, all in MHO of course

My favourite type of post on the transfer threads. I predict a variation of this will be posted at least 27 times before the window shuts.

Hint: if there was any transfer news, it would be on here.

Agreed. People moaning that they come on here for news and there is no news on here. There is a reason why that’s the case. Love those posts.

Some guy called Rob on Twitter claiming there’s a midday announcement. But just a heads up, I’m pretty confident he’s never been right about anything 🙄

Based on previous he can be in Tier Five alongside Alex Crooks/Talksport etc.

Rumour it’s Bazanu

This could be why we might not be looking at him. His distribution is on a par with McCarthy. Although he is a far better keeper at stopping shots etc

We seem to be infested by these types.

A shame Luton didn’t come up and give these a right old clump to scare them away from football.
