good news. are we basically going to be Man City youth?

Fine by me if they're all the standard of Lavia and Bazunu!

I sometimes wonder if this is one of the main reason for MLT's absence this summer. At one point he engaged Supersaint and was trying to post twitter links before him.... but he just couldn't match up to his speed and alertness for the latest twitter transfer news.

I think Mebude is rated higher than Edozie in youth ranks — but in Shields we trust.

I'd be ok with getting both.

Nobody signs anyone the day before deadline day. I'm convinced that once it gets to within 48 hours of the window 'slamming shut' all deals that get completed are just kept secret and then "teased" throughout the day to make it more exciting.

What's the highest number of players anyone has ever signed from one club in one window? If these three come off, that'll be five from City this summer.

**Puts on cynical, miserable old bastard hat**

It's all very well signing kids for the future, but we need some quality now. Cheapskate Saints as usual. SR is Gao under another name. Leaking stories of signing Gakpo when really we never intended to. Asset-stripping. Planning for life in the Championship. Walcott will be a starter. Why hasn't RH won the league yet? Carparking fees. Grrrrrr.

Can’t believe we’ve opted for players with no hyphens in their surnames. Not good enough.

They're still young, they could get married. Give them a fair chance!

Man Citys website bio on Juan Larios:

PACY, ATTACKING LEFT-BACK

A signing in the summer of 2020 from Barcelona, Juan is a full-back who loves to get forward and use his pace to hurt opposition defences.

A Spanish youth international, Juan began his City career as part of the title-winning U18's in 2020/21 before moving to the EDS for 2021/22 - playing 11 times across the season.

Edozie I’d heard of but not Larios. Two more looking as outstanding talents who want to be playing EPL football. Shields really is the real deal and let’s not forget how significant SR have been backing him at the first opportunity. Still hope we get a striker, a ACM and a decent CB though.

Bio for Sam Edozie:

SKILLFUL, PACY WINGER

Sam signed from Millwall in July 2019 as a scholar and has impressed with his pace and trickery in his debut campaign.

Progressing to the EDS squad in 2020/21, Sam is capable of playing both on the right and left wing.

Sam impressed while working with the City first team during the 2021/22 pre-season, and made his senior debut in the Community Shield clash against Leicester at Wembley in August 2021.

15 appearances across the Premier League 2 and UEFA Youth League followed in the 2021/22 season.

I can't help but read his name as Sammy Dozey 😂

Didn't we already set a record for the youngest team in the league? If these fellas get a game then we'll be bringing down our average.

Wonderkid FC. They are pretty much just doing the Football Manager blueprint, buy every wonderkid you can find.

Thing is as well only some of these need to come off as we are likely to be turning £10 million players into £40-50-60 million players, do that 3-4 times and we have the finances to compete.

Wonder if he will replace Romeu. If we get the city lads it seems unlikely we'd need more fullback cover.

Would make sense - JWP, Lavia, Diallo, AMN is a pretty athletic and dynamic CM selection, who all bring something a bit different.

Well that's the Ori replacement, presuming he's been guaranteed game time in his preferred position of CM.

If we can get Bednarek and Redmond gone and bring in Caleta-Car and Gakpo, what a window.

Am happy we are buying the most talented youngsters available from the best coached and successful english team of the last 5yrs.

The relative success of Tino, Lavia, BK, Bazunu, even Broja in a short space of time shows that "the pathway" is real at Saints. That and beating Chelsea 2-1 last night stacked with kids must surely play a big part in a players mindset next 36 hours. For example - Cody- Everton or Saints - which team has got better reputation for your development? Ohm btw, neither are going to win anything - but which is more likely to make you a mega star in a year or two? Which team does it season after season? Not even close as a choice. The only difference is Everton might pay £25kpw more and if that's the only reason for choosing them then they can keep the player...

Pretty sure that’s the idea, especially given he favours playing in midfield. Let’s face it, with Lavia likely out for 3-4 weeks he’s probably straight in the team so immediately gives him the chance to impress.

AMN is a great signing as a loan with option to buy. Absolute no brainer.

I'd still like at least one attacker in, preferably two.

Agreed. Was really hoping we’d get him. A unit.
