He’s a nothing player. He doesn’t effect the game at all. I’m not really sure what he offered and why he keeps getting picked

Think we need a big centre forward plus a creative midfielder. We didn't quite have enough in our locker today up front or creatively to cause Utd enough problems.

I will participate in guess the incoming striker:  My 3 guesses

Paul Onuachu Belgian league so would be a punt but this lad looks like a Unit up top.  Obligatory Youtube:

Enes Unal Turkish Leage: Obligatory youtube:

Joel Piroe, Club Swansea, obligatory youtube:

He was shite today. Just very safe and evidently slow when comparing to the pace of the game

ABK was superb and everything Bednarek isn’t.

He just needs to calm down in front of goal as he made a couple of typical defender attempts.

Really impressed with us defensively as a whole although you could argue someone should not have given Fernandes the space for that.

Ely is just a passenger and surely we cannot continue with him in there.

Aribo looks strong but does need to quicken things up a bit for me.

Ralph seemed confident of getting a striker so please let’s hope that comes off and that he’s good enough to make a difference.

Don’t wanna be the first to say it but I don’t think arribo is gonna be the answer to our number 10 problems.. he’s been very anonymous the past two games hardly noticed him.. more creativity coming from djenepo and AA tbh .

still think this is a position we should be looking at along with the striker none of our attacking 10s are really causing any problems, we are crying out for someone in the 10 that can make things happen atm djenepo probably looks most likely if used when perraud ia fully fit

Aribo looks very strong and holds the ball up well. Wouldn't write him off yet for sure. I wanted things to be quicker and more intense at times and thats what we need from Joe in certain situations when we are breaking

We have the nucleus of what could be a very very good young side. For me there are two crucial pieces missing from the jigsaw. If we can find those pieces before the window closes we can become a match for most teams. If we don't find them then I fear it will be a struggle and we will have wasted the good work already done in bringing in our young stars. The two pieces to the jigsaw are a quality, hungry young striker and a creative number 10 who can control the tempo, create opportunities,  go by opponents and weigh in with a few goals. We are close but much depends on what happens between now and Aug 31st in my opinion. It can go either way.

I’d disagree with that, I think. I get what you’re saying, but I felt comfortable when Aribo got the ball up front. He’s strong so can keep hold of it up there, he more than often doesn’t give it away, and he also had the header today which was one of our best chances. I think I read that when he was at Rangers he was a bit hit and miss but I like the look of him.

It’s not so much hit and miss for me,, he just seems a bit anonymous for most of the games so far in the same way that moi does

but enough moaning.. joe shields has done a super job so far.. lavia and ABK look like they are gonna br big international stars for their countries they are that good. And Mara again looking promising in his little cameo again tried one of those nice through balls I wonder if he can play number. Ten as he definitely has creativity and can make things happen .

great bunch of youngsters and if they get time to grow together without us getting hijacked to fast the future looks bright

Might be worth pointing out that people laughed at me on here when I called the club small time for making a big deal out of a goal in a preseason friendly. My exact words were I'd be as impressed as anyone else if he does it in games that matter.

If you go through our signings so far...

Bazunu - upgrade on McCarthy, replaced him in the first team.

ABK - Upgrade on Bednarek, replaced him in the first team.

Lavia - Upgrade on Romeu, replaced him in the first team

Aribo - Upgrade on Redmond/Theo, replaced them in the first team

Mara - Adds genuine threat from the bench. He will probably be a starter by the end of the season

That's a pretty impressive return thus far, each of them adds so much extra physicality as well. I can't wait to see what other new additions we have up our sleeve.

Next two we need - upgrade on Elyounoussi, replace his first team place. Upgrade on Adams/Adam Armstrong (or at least someone to feed off the dirty stuff Adams can do)

Definitely need an attacking/wide player that isn’t afraid to turn with the ball and run at the defence.

Full back cover could still be on the agenda for a loan.

A CB that can compete with ABK and Salisu, IF Bednarek is on his way out.

No Redmond, Walcott or Stephens in todays match day squad.

I'd add a goal scoring CF to that list but yeah, agreed.

If Perraud is back in the team then the natural Ely replacement would be Djenepo unless we sign someone with a higher stock?

I'd hope that's our plan. I think we need better than both in the attacking third.

Very, very impressive signings this window.

Still work to do of course; which underlines the 'quality' of the squad we've had in recent seasons.

I expected us to break our transfer record on a striker: maybe we still will.

Some work to do before the window SLAMS shut.

Are there more fixtures after the January window than before this year, because of the WC?

17 fixtures after January 31st, in comparison to 16 last season, although that does include the postponed Newcastle match. The main schedule change of this season is the season starting eight days earlier and there only being one international break next month before the World Cup in December, when there's usually a break in September, October and November.

Still think it will be Kaladkjic or however you spell it.

Not that anyone gives a shit but this would be my preferred choice.  Has a history of being consistent in an average team, in a good league, good physical attributes and, basically, none of the others fill me with much confidence.  His assist record looks pretty good as well from what I can see just from the "numbers".

Ramos is a no 10 - I'll take him if it's ion that position but not as a striker.

Wolves target Kalajdzic left out of Stuttgart squad

Sasa Kalajdzic has been left out of Stuttgart's squad to faceCologne in the Bundesliga on Sunday, amid Wolves' interest in the player.

After talks with head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, Kalajdzic has been left out of training today as well, the club have confirmed.

Wolves are expected to make an offer for the striker.

Stuttgart want £21.2m (€25m) for him but Sky Germany have reported a realistic compromise could be met in the region of £17m (€20m).

Thats nothing for a player who has performed consistently well in the Bundesliga. Hopefully we're still in the mix although we havent been linked for weeks

By leaving a player out is suggests strongly that he is about to leave. But the line about Wolves expected to make a bid is a mis match to that. So maybe we have and its done😉
