It would be strange, he was on the bench for City y/day. (Maybe an effort by them to show that he'll get chances there)

Yeah, I really don't see it happening.

There's a handful of people on Twitter that are trying to claim ITK status and they've brought up this little following of people now who are obsessed with them and their BS tweets. Suddenly their BS is RT'd and shared across the #saintsfc timeline and the muppets take it as gospel everything they say. 👀

Maybe we could offer Bednarek to Rodgers to help sweeten the deal for Iheanacho, we all know he gets aroused at the prospect of signing one of our players…

Also, If Leicester or United end up with McCarthy it would make this good transfer window a great one - not only would it give us a tidy cash injection to reinvest, but we’ll be making our rivals worse off in the process.

We could even do them a never-to-be-seen again prime day deal, Redmond and Elyounoussi thrown in for free. Rodgers will probably lap that up given that they were linked to Elyonoussi recently.

How much did their starting 11 cost yesterday??!

£450m, mad isn’t it. They were so bad. Image what the wage bill must be. Ronaldo on his own is meant to be on £480k a week

I was very surprised Saints give him a two year contract in 2021. Looked neither good enough to be a RB or a CB. Perhaps he can do a decent job in league 2. How have the Sulphurites started this season?

and look how bad the Glazers are with them on the training ground!

Apparently, Fred cost as much as the entire Brentford starting 11!

Up and down. First game against Swindon I went to and were very good, won 3-0 and played well. Then lost 3-0 away Crewe, lost 1-0 home to Stockport in the cup and yesterday was meant to be a very dull 0-0. Made a lot of signings it’s pretty much a new team from last season, definitely needed freshening up but still need a striker. I didn’t go yesterday but Ramsey is said to have played well.

I hope so, we supposedly offered good money for Liam,  unusually showed our hand I think because we really want him. We haven't given up! I was sure we had after Pepe shut us out. Joe must be pushing hard for this kid! Yes another big gamble on a kid, but as you saw yesterday, these young men have plenty of talent to match our seasoned pros. I hope it is not a loan, as we saw what happened with broja. We showed the world what he could do and thus priced ourselves out.

I would rather Liam than ineacho. I think Joe having known both would prob have Liam too. Ineacho is a bigger gamble, 25 and not holding down a first team spot at a rival team....why? Not enough game time, why not? Not impressive at training? Leicester had a horrible run last season, yet ineacho could not make the team or have an impact? I am not writing him off, he obviously has talent, but will he suddenly come good by swapping to SAINTS?

Surely we will see some outward movement for the likes of Redmond, Walcott,Diallo and a CB soon?

Otherwise don't see how we could be targetting strikers for £20m plus, however much we may need one.

I thought he looked decent at fullback

The outgoings are going to be had to shift permanently because of wages.

McCarthy, Redmond, Bednarek, even Djenepo will be on high wages, and with a couple of them being in their final year we wouldn’t get much for them. Likely be similar to Lemina/Hoedt situations.

And we haven’t even come to ability yet….! (That said I’d keep Redmond, he isn’t as bad as some make out).

Would keep Redmond over Djenepo or Walcott for sure

I’d keep djenepo over both. Seems to have got his head down and applied himself this summer, offers some cover at fb and is still relatively young.

He’s not at the level good enough for me, too erratic and there’s just no end product, he’s got talent but I just don’t see him cutting it in the Premier League

He got an assist last week and put in a great cross for Aribo’s blocked chance yesterday. He’s definitely capable but very inconsistent and erratic.

He has glimpses, that’s fine, maybe I am being harsh on him but I just don’t see him making it, as much as he seems to want to improve

Keep him as a squad player.

He's shown he's capable as a backup LB and does offer something different when he's on form.

If we're chasing a game against a packed defence he does cause problems with his (erratic, admittedly) ability to take on and go past a player.

Bonkers when they already have better. Not sure what their plan is this summer, feels very scattergun.

Like someone said above, Ziyech and Pulusic and probably CHO if given game time are all on a different stratosphere than Antony bloody gordon.

Seems a very strange signing. Chelsea have much better players who are lucky to get 10 minutes on the pitch.

He needs to say no, as he is just establishing himself as an important player in a premier league side.  No where near ready for this move!

If I’m Everton, I’m selling him & trying to get Broja/Cho in.

And if I’m Southampton I’m on the phone to Harvey Vales representatives first thing tomorrow morning saying ‘see, no squad number and new players being targeted  in your position…come play here’.

That rumour will be outed as nonsense pretty quickly this week so I’d be onto Vale ASAP.

Liam Delap is in the process of being loaned out by #ManCity this summer, Pep Guardiola has confirmed.Pep Guardiola: “We loaned ‘Macca’ [James McAtee], Liam [Delap] is in that process because we have Erling [Haaland] and Julian [Alvarez] and he needs minutes. The EDS phase is done. He has to try and go there and play..." [via @IndyFootball]
this appears to come from a legit source.
