It'd stop him scoring against us! (Iheanacho not Woods). Left footed, hardly been first choice at Leicester (and City), wouldn't be a bad shout.

A guy from Atalanta is imminent, as well as cheick doucoure on a free and they're the ones in for Maupay, who will cost them £15m

Still hold strong interest in Gibbs-White too.

They’ve gone mental. I know they lost a chunk of their starting 11 from last year as they were loans… but…..

Kouyate. Some good signings in there, but they will struggle to build cohesion and continuity with such wholesale changes. Im sure some of the players who helped get them promoted and who now find themselves on the bench will be a bit pissed too. They'll not be as bad as Fulham that season, but I think they will still be in the relegation picture come March/April next year

I think Iheanacho would be an excellent signing for us…him, Mara and Aribo linking up would be a mouth-watering prospect.

Sign him up based purely on the players he is similar too according to statsbomb, the touch of boufal and the goal threat of morata.

Just did a comparision between him/Che and kalajdzic (who has similar stats which is interesting)

Also Shields was at City when Iheanacho was as well.

Never heard of Jackson, reading some articles it suggests this is his breakthrough season in the first team over there (he's made 1 app and already scored). He seems to be a wide right attacking mid sort of player, as opposed to an out and out striker though. Which a supposed £28m release clause....

He looks strong, quick, skillful and decent in the air. Didn't show many of his goals though so that may be an issue.

I’m sure all will become clear in the coming days.

Every player in La Liga has to have a release clause, it is a rule of the league. That doesn't mean you can't sign them for less than the clause.

Weren't we sniffing around Iheanacho before his move to Leicester or am I confused with a previous FM save?

Would be an interesting signing addition and perhaps the 'reset' he needs. Another one I would put 2+2 together to make 8 with is Callum Wilson, I noticed he was doing a lot of conditioning/1-1 work back in Dorset with Matt Ritchie and Ryan Fraser (Yes MLG I know they all played for Bournemouth). 

Other than that, I have zero clue who is this mystery PL striker could bt?

Yes we were interested in Ihenanacho when he was at City, never really quite hit the levels expected of him as so would be interesting if he were to come here. Doesn't have a particularly good goalscoring record, but then i think he's been in and out of the Leciester team.

He's never really been given a run anywhere if you look at it. The best run he's had at Leicester was during project restart if I remember, and he was banging the goals in.

Then Leicester went and bought Daka and still didn't give him a chance to play regular in the new season. He strikes he as a player who is crying out for regular football to settle down and show his ability. He's well liked at Leicester and one of their complaints with Rodgers is that he doesn't play him enough.

Kinda similar situation to Jesus who seems to have benefited from going to a club and being seen as the main man.

I think he would be ideal for us. While Leicester are all over the place get in quick with a bid and test the water. At least he’s proven in the Prem and that’s gotta be a big plus mark for any striker we look at.

He's someone I didn't really think about, but when you look at the fact he probably wants to play regular football now (he's 25) and Shields originally brought him to the City Academy - then it could be someone we are genuinely perusing, with the promise of him being the main man. I'm not sure he's an 'out and out' striker as such, strikes me as more of a supporting forward, but he can certainly score goals if given a run.

He's got his mate Aribo here too.

I think he'd be about £20m, but Leicester may see him as one of their more expendable players who can give them an immediate cash flow without having to sell their 'stars'. (Although i still think Fofana is off)

yes you're right he did have a run of games a while back where he was on fire. Wonder what it is that Rodgers doesn't like about him? Leciester need to sell by all accounts to raise some funds.

I try not to think too much about Rodgers and what he looks for in a player. Anyone who happily forks out for Vestergaard is suspect 🤣

I mentioned Iheanacho the other week, he is quite clearly better than what we have and it feels like it could be doable. 

He is still struggling for regular game time at Leicester and they need money. A proven PL goal scorer and still at a good age. I hadn't realised the links to Joe Shields too. Would be a genuinely exciting signing imo, I hope Saints are at least asking the question.

I'm not sure whether "genuinely exciting" is a huge stretch or indicative of how awful our transfer dealings have been over the last couple of years

No way! I honestly didn't know that was a thing. Would explain the obscene release clauses Barcelona stick in their players contracts.
