Just playing FM and you still do press conferences for new signings on there, even at non-league level and it got me thinking, who was the last signing that we had a press conference to announce?

Osvaldo had a press conference if I recall.

Forest looking to sign their entire 25 man squad in 1 window.

(& likely out of the race for Che)

Brighton's bank account is ready to burst. That'll be over £100m just sitting there to reinvest in the next couple of weeks, worryingly they'll now target a striker with more resources than we have, and we're going to be shopping in the same market.

Vardy. Just to set Leicester fans into a spiral! Probably the type of striker we would look at, even if his legs are going. 🤣

Anyone else see Ruben Selles tell Ralph to take Bednarek off and then Bednarek say something to RS in a pissed off mood? Perhaps beginning of the end for him here

I think today's performance has shown beyond doubt why we couldn't find any takers for him in the transfer window.

He must have watched ABK's performance and realised he is now consigned to being a backup player again, which is all he ever should have been anyway.

Yep. He really wasn't happy. Time for him to move on I think.

ABK looks like a monster. Him and Salisu could make for a very solid CB pairing.

I hope Saints as a whole don't think we're suddenly good enough from that comeback that we don't need the extra players. Impressive bench cameo from Aribo and Mara aside, we still need two attackers (AM and Str), a FB and, if we are to persist with Ralph and his 3 CB formation, another CB.

It is good to hear the new signings are coming good though. It shows that if we are to get a post-Ralph era, and the new manager doesn't come in and play Ralphball, then we stand a chance of survival if not more.

If they persist with 3 CB's ralph needs sacking. CB not really a priority unless we achieve a miracle & get rid of Bednarek and Stephens.

Didn't Ralph say something in the Fans Forum along the lines of the 3 CB formation being here to stay but he might occasionally play 4-2-2-2? It was mentioned on here - in which case 3 CBs isn't going anywhere fast. Ralph is stubborn and even with today's late formation change I wouldn't put it past him to keep playing 3 CBs. And when one of those is Jan, Jack, Valery or Lyanco we need an upgrade in quality there. If he does change his ways and resort to 4 at the back then we don't need another CB, but I'll believe it when I see it!

We need far more than a CB to make the 3 CB formation work.

It’s as clear as day that 352 or 5221 or whatever Ralph is trying is not suited to our players as it invites pressure on a shaky defence. Keep BJK and Salisu as two CB’s, give them the chance to bond, put Lavia and possibly Romeu in front of them as protection but place the emphasis on quick play out from the back to midfield and our forwards to put pressure on the oppo teams defence most of whom are as shaky as our lot anyway. Continue with the high press, but do it together and allow the fullbacks to assume their defensive positions.  Easy this football thing is it not?!? 😂😉

He isn't good enough. Very much on the decline and has just joined Rooney at DC United...

What's this based on your football manager numbers? Is he now a 9 whereas he was a 10 before? Why do you feel the need to belittle someone who rates a player? You have no idea if he would be good for us or not, apart from you've probably signed him on your video game and he flopped (which isn't real life if you didn't know)

Delap

Iheanacho

Ings

One of them I reckon

I personally think it could be Iheanacho as I did some research recently and he’s not often featuring as much as he used too, aged 25 perfect age for us.

An outside shout is Chris Wood if Newcastle buy another striker, aged 30 so nothing more than 10m.

And to add to that, he was originally brought to Man City by Shields.

He’d be a good replacement for Che, I.e “second striker”, but I still feel like we need a replacement for Broja and one who can play on the shoulder / on the counter. Sorta what Armstrong should be doing, but better.

Hmm, 8-10 goals per season. Not bad, better than we’ve had for a while. Price in our range. Could do worse

He’s terrible, worse finisher than Che. Gets loads of chances at Brighton and hardly takes them… exactly the sort we need to avoid
