The Russian Parliament is in the process of passing a law that decriminalises any action carried out in Ukraine if it can be considered to have been enacted "in the interests of the Russian Federation".

Given that they were already okay with industrial scale rape and murder, I’m not entirely sure what this law is supposed to be enabling. Perhaps they want it enshrined in their constitution, so that they can start handing out medals for ‘exemplary raping in a combat scenario’.

I think they are just formalising their 2 fingered gesture towards the Hague.

Shame that the Maiden coup ever took place really. All this death and destruction on both sides would likely never have happened.

You think the Ukrainians should have meekly accepted their President taking a £1 billion bribe from Putin to reverse the closer ties to EU platform he was elected on and instead did a 180 degree turn to move closer to Russia?   Guess you're on the side of oligarchies Jonny and not the people as you always like to pretend.

Moved from the World Cup thread;

Germany sent 1000 anti-tank and 500 anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine within a week of the invasion starting. On March 24, exactly a month after it started they sent 2000 more AT missiles, and committed to over 2000 more AA systems. By then they had also given permission for the Dutch and Estonians to release German manufactured heavy weapons to Ukraine. ( Remember, the German constitution had forbidden this before Putin forced them to re-assess things ).

They didnt actually send jack shit for ages, they promised then didn't deliver for months. Why do you have a selective memory?

I don't see any benefit in an anti-European post - Brexit dick measuring contest as to who does what in support of Ukraine. What matters is that every EU and NATO member is contributing something, as are many, many, other countries around the globe. Of course Germany could do more; so could the French, the Spanish, and probably even the UK, but considering Germany's history think of the visuals of them intervening in a war that is supposedly being fought by Russia against Nazism, ( I know that assertion is bollocks but the Russians and their supporters would love it ). Also, remember that Germany was a prime mover in instigating the  1917 Russian Revolution.

Politics, especially International politics, is a murky business, and even uniting, at face value, the Western nations in support of Kyiv will have involved a lot of issues being suppressed for the sake of presentation.

And you are the classic example of denying everything that doesn't fit your selected narrative.

How exactly is the 4 day SMO going ?

Lol fair enough, you have to admit its a weird looking picture though.

I'm liking all this conversion to hateful "Corbynism" though. I'm all in favour of violently confiscating private mansions and royal palaces to return them to the people to share. When is it happening here?

Are you not able to grasp the difference between private property bought with corruptly embezzled funds and Government buildings used to house heads of state and ministers for the period of time they hold office?

Buckingham Palace is property of The Crown, ie the State, and not the personal property of the Monarch.

Thats good, because you're the one that started trying to argue with me initially, now youre backing down. So maybe next time do you research before trying to disprove someone and quote them.  My initial comment you replied to was basically ''dont be bashing the uk and praising the eu when the Eu has messed up too. ''  and your final reply is basically 'dont bash the EU' . Lmfao works both ways mate, dont falsely bash the uk then we don't get topics going off topic.

Us being outside of the Eu benefitted Ukraine. Facts.

Not backing down at all, I stand by my posts on this subject. I simply said the Germans might have done more, as might everybody else. And as for us being in or out of the EU it really has made no difference: countries are free to make their own contributions outside of any group membership they may hold, they are not bound solely to the EU or NATO.

The theatre in Mariupol in the cellar of which hundreds of civilans including many children were entombed when it was bombed, ( despite having the word CHILDREN clearly marked in front of it ), is now being demolished by the Russians - who had earlier filled the cellar with concrete rather than try to extricate the bodies.

According to Vlad he still thinks of Ukraine as a 'brotherly nation', and it is most certainly not Russia's fault that thousands of missiles have been launched against Ukrainian infrastructure sites.

Didn’t he say while drunk a couple of weeks ago that yes they are attacking infrastructure but Ukraine started it with the Crimea bridge attack?

Yes.

Those pesky Ukrainians, standing up to our tanks, firing back, recapturing their territory. How dare they.

They are simple public health laboratories tasked to monitor and respond to outbreaks of infectious diseases. A lot of diseseases such as typhoid and malaria are endemic in Asian countries like India. Its in the West's interests to stop outbeaks in buffer states before they turn into something major.

And they were also one of Russia's "justifications", parroted by a couple of shills on here, for the SMO.

Propping up a currency unsustainably, everything is ok… until it’s not. This might be one of the first signs of ‘not’ for the general population.

Saw another item where pensioners couldn’t get their pensions because the office had no cash. Suggests a run on the banks is brewing and government is trying to restrict amount of cash to reduce outflows

Yep. All this they're running dry talk is irritating. Ditto that Ukraine are winning. It must be bloody awful being a Ukrainian knowing that more missiles will come, more homes and lives will be lost, and that they'll be without electricity and water for god knows how long.
