Supreme leader of the universe reporting from the bridge of the Enterprise (but the shit one from the 1960's rather than the updated version).

I think the room's nearer the Earth's core than Earth's orbit.

Everything in Russia looks really shit. Even when displaying opulence it all looks dark.

Ive got some photos somewhere of villages 1 hour outside of Ekaterinburg (one of the biggest cities in Russia). Dirt roads, turf roofed cottages, rope bridge across the river and handcarts.

2010 but life in most of Russia outside the cities hasnt changed

I concur! I visited a town about 50 miles outside of Ekaterinburg and on top of what you say I saw a group of women doing their laundry on the river bank using rocks. Outside of the cities Russia is about 150 years behind.

One of the things which really struck me was a couple of barefoot kids dressed in rags begging. I'd just come back from Sri Lanka and Russia reminded me more of there than Western Europe.

Ukraine now apparently advancing on all fronts. Towards Svatove/Kremina in the North West Ukraine are approaching the outskirts of the city. What’s left of Wagner seems to have broken itself against Bakmuht and is finally being pushed back. There’s still an information blackout about Kherson but Russia certainly aren’t claiming any victories.

Meanwhile the shift to blaming Satanism instead of Nazis is amusing, but seems to be part of a broader info strategy of abandoning old lies that don’t have any traction any more in favour of new ones as the old ones break against the reality of Russia’s performance in the war.

While the tone of State TV has been changing over the course of the war, there seems to have been another noticeable recent shift. The Moskva sinking actually being attributed to Ukraine is an interesting one. Being that scathing about the state of Russia’s forces too. The state of Russia’s nuclear capability being openly questioned on state tv is surprising to say the least.

One common thread that’s still there, and always have been, is that these failures are attributed to people who aren’t Putin of course. Seems to me they’re preparing the ground to shape it as a ‘victory’ when they heroically manage to stop all of NATO and Satanism at Russia’s border with Ukraine.

It amuses me when the BBC reports that "Russia has accused Ukraine", as if it might have been an unprovoked attack, and there may be doubt as to the perpetrators. ( I suppose it could be a false flag operation, but probably not ). It should hardly come as a surprise to the Russians, given all the things that Ukraine is 'accusing' them of.

Its bizarre to our ears but a lot of people do seem to lap it up - particularly domestically in Russia but also in Africa and Middle East.

Aside from the fact that Sevastopol is way out of range of any drone Ukraine has (even the TB2), the now well used adage of any Kremlin statement being a lie would indicate another explaination, possibly an air defense missile malfunctioning which would not be the first time. Oh, and the British Special Forces were involved on this op as well. Russia is now forwarding this as an excuse for pulling out of the grain corridor deal, convenient. There's a grainy video posted, but dosen't really show much either way.

With them pulling out of protecting the corridor, the way is clear for NATO to step in...

Black sea is pretty complicated though. There is an international agreement that only military ships from a country with a Black Sea coast can be based there

Unconfirmed reports that the frigates Admiral Makarov and Admiral Essen were hit, as well as a minesweeper, and a landing craft. Also seems that a submarine pen in Sevastapol was hit.

There’s convincing video that the Admiral Makarov was hit and on fire for a few hours at least, starting around 4:20 this morning and extending into daylight hours. There’s also more recent speculation it’s actually sunk. Even if it hasn’t, if it’s confirmed it was on fire that long, it’ll be out of action for the foreseeable future. Either way, seems that, in a fight against an adversary with no navy, Russia has lost its flagship. Twice.

Interesting. Where did you find that? Currently showing 60 days and 22 hours. Midnight on New Years eve I guess (without really working out the maths).

via Reddit. They had one for the Crimean Bridge too apparently but went months over the timer.

One cruiser alongside, the other moored fore-aft. Any damage to the one alongside, if that is the Admiral Makarov,

would be expected on the starboard side, which cannot be seen as it's against the dock.

Apparently it took 5 hours to tow the Makarov back to port.

The boat drone footage had an amusing part with sailors diving off a boat in comical footage at one point, even though the drone went past the boat.

It has been claimed that units of Russian mobiks are being sent to the front line without radios, and as a consequence 2 such units spent 3 days shooting at each other.

Antonov have said they are building a new AN225 Mriya to replace the one destroyed at Hostomel.
