badgerx16 Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Putin says that a ceasefire is not acceptable if Ukraine is allowed to rearm and retrain it's armed forces. Presumably Russia would guarantee not to do the same. 2
egg Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Vladimir Putin says fighting must end in Ukraine, but adds a ceasefire should lead to "enduring peace and remove underlying causes of this crisis" Odd that a world leader asks to be taken out. 2

He has no interest in a lasting, peaceful ceasefire and will manipulate the situation as best he can to further his military ambitions. badgerx16 Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Steven Witkoff, US Special Advisor to the Middle East, has said that the results of the referendums that Russia held in the occupied ares of Ukraine demonstrate that the people there want to be Russian, completely ignoring the facts around those polls where those people that hadn't fled the military occupation, or been detained by the Russians, were asked at gunpoint whether they wanted to be assimilated. It appears that yet another of Putin's key demands has already been conceded. Mind you, given the views of Trump and his cronies towards elections, is this surprising. 1

badgerx16 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Given Putin's comments this morning regarding the Ukrainian Government, maybe Zelensky should suggest that there is a democratic election in Russia, under the supervision of the UN, and then peace talks could take place with Russia's new 'legitimate' leadership. 2

Lighthouse Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Some things are more useful as a threat, should Russia try and escalate in some way. Basically Europe isn’t playing all of its cards straight away.
