Just imagine if somebody could devise a sort of economic union of the European countries.Perhaps they would let the UK join it.

But they would make us have straight bananas and put anyone who used imperial measurements in jail.

Putin says that a ceasefire is not acceptable if Ukraine is allowed to rearm and retrain it's armed forces. Presumably Russia would guarantee not to do the same.

Vladimir Putin says fighting must end in Ukraine, but adds a ceasefire should lead to "enduring peace and remove underlying causes of this crisis"

Odd that a world leader asks to be taken out.

Putin is a tyre kicker. He has no interest in a lasting, peaceful ceasefire and will manipulate the situation as best he can to further his military ambitions. Trump is nothing but an extremely useful idiot who may force Ukraine into concessions which benefit  Russia.

According to Ukrainian media, there has been a sharp increase over the last month in the number of former US military personnel applying to join the Ukrainian army.

Steven Witkoff, US Special Advisor to the Middle East, has said that the results of the referendums that Russia held in the occupied ares of Ukraine demonstrate that the people there want to be Russian, completely ignoring the facts around those polls where those people that hadn't fled the military occupation, or been detained by the Russians, were asked at gunpoint whether they wanted to be assimilated. It appears that yet another of Putin's key demands has already been conceded.

Mind you, given the views of Trump and his cronies towards elections, is this surprising.

Given Putin's comments this morning regarding the Ukrainian Government, maybe Zelensky should suggest that there is a democratic election in Russia, under the supervision of the UN, and then peace talks could take place with Russia's new 'legitimate' leadership.

3 years into the special military operation and people are talking about 'increasing sanctions'.

Why haven't these sanctions already been put in place over the last 3 years?

Was thinking the same. Why the fuck are they not on maximum from day1
