I would happily swap a cup run for a 0.3 xG increase.

Remember hearing Liverpool fans saying more important to finish 4th than win the CL  final which don’t think had qualifying place at the time. Don’t try and win the fucking thing just make sure you qualify for it next year.

Not many until late 50s. We only went to away Cup games, the League matches were minor affairs, it was the Cup that excited fans. There weren't many cars in the 40s. We went by train.
