nta786 Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 I didn’t think that was a yellow card or a foul. It’s a contact sport ffs he barely laid a finger on him. I think the foul on its own would have been fine. 1
DT Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 For an absolute muscle of a man Obafemi didn’t half go down easily there.
HarvSFC Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Damn, he looked alright in a back three against Tottenham too, but he’s hopeless as a right-back. Weird that he used to be our bright hope when we had Cedric. Now we’re spoiled at right-back. 2
OttawaSaint Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Stupid to put his hands on him but Oba went down like a sack of spuds.

obelisk Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Should have taken some chances even before that. Now it'll be a struggle.
saintwbu Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Forster completely stitched Valery up for the first yellow, and Obafemi dived for the second - poor refereeing.
Streaky Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 That's what u get for having a Hitler mustache!
qwertyell Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Liability as usual. Brains of a rocking horse. 2
Saint_clark Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Commentator is fucking clueless. JWP drops into right back..."I bet he's not played there too many times!". Actually, he has. 2 5
nta786 Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Commentator - “I bet he [JWP] hasn’t played there [right back] too many times” These lot have done no research 1
trousers Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Technically a foul (in today's soft football world) but amazing how a tap on the shoulder causes a grown man to tumble over like a sack of spuds 1
Miltonaggro Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Saints need to finish some of this excellent approach play, should be 2 or 3 up. Daft challenge from Valery on Barry White. As an aside the appalling BBC commentary appears to be provided by the Swansea Car park stewards and burger bar staff - niche. 2 1
Sheaf Saint Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 That was so soft but the ref had no choice really. Idiotic from Valery. 1
Edmonton Saint Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Valery isn't good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near our starting XI ( FA Cup or not) . 2
LGTL Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Obafemi with his usual shit touch but Valery just couldn’t help himself 1

Chez Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Valery misses the header and is in trouble, but Obafemi makes the most of it. The early yellow was well deserved, but Forster's poor kicking contributed to that. 1

O’bafemi was nowhere close to getting to the ball, it went straight through to Forster. Dopey defending, two yellows inside 30 minutes when your team has been in the ascendancy ffs. 1

Saint Billy Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 I like the way Forster looks at the pitch after every bad kick. 2
nta786 Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 On the other hand though, this game was looking pretty comfortable for us, maybe with a man down it’ll be even now. We never do things easy do we

Free transfer if they want to take him full time if Yann waives any pay off. If RH needs cover in that area we can bring a right sided loan in now. Brentford delighted for Tuesday day now with Saints having to play for 60 minutes with 10 men. Regretting not being more clinical with those chances. Manager has criticised Salisu for not following instructions v Spurs in not letting the keeper save, next game the bonehead does the same thing and far from certain Obafemi even gets to the ball unlike Son who would have been 1-1 with Fraser. Last game Valery plays for us I reckon. Edited 8 January, 2022 by saint1977

hackedoff Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 All stemmed from a needless backpass for the first card.
Scully Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 (edited) Not a red card for me tbh, Oba made no effort to stay on his feet, I'd give the foul but the red card was very harsh Edited 8 January, 2022 by Scully

Have you never nearly bumped into someone and held your hand out as a buffer? It's an instinctual reaction, and there is absolutely no way there was enough contact to affect Obafemi in any way at all. Ref was conned. 2
trousers Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Genuine question.... When did tapping someone on the shoulder become a foul in the laws of the game? It wasn't always like this, was it? 3
badgerx16 Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 At least we have recent experience of playing with 10 for more than half a game.
Sunglasses Ron Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 I said as soon as he was booked that he needs pulling off. He’s just not got the right mentality to change the way he plays. It’s ironic that Obefami showed the type of nouse that we seem to lack so often. 4
adrian lord Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 We should’ve been three nil up before the red - we could well rue the lack of killer instinct 1
Disco Stu Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Never simple is it! We should be 0-3 up but instead it's game on and our players are now going to have to do a lot of running before an important match this Tuesday. 1

CanadaSaint Posted 8 January, 2022 Posted 8 January, 2022 Valery was gradually working is way back into Ralph's good books, despite some reservations, but that might remove him from the reckoning. No big problem with the second yellow, but I think refs need to be a bit more tolerant before showing the first. With good refs a word in the ear is just as effective as a yellow, and it doesn't spoil games. 1 1
