We always get jobbed like this.

Had it been Saints diving then the ref would not give us a thing and we get labeled as divers and not get decisions in future games. Kane shouldn't even be playing after that b foul vs Liverpool.

Behave. That was as clear a penalty as you’ll see. Also a booking which meant a sending off. Easy to blame the ref but was naive defending diving in like that. How the fuck Salisu gets booked but Regllion doesn’t for a worse version of the same challenge is ridiculous.

Another game being spoiled by ridiculously inconsistent refereeing. I swear professionalism in referees has just created a bunch of wannabe celebrities who want to create controversy to help their celebrity status.

Saints we're looking really good until the penalty - can't argue with the decision, but if that's a yellow why wasn't Dawson's for wet sham??

well... we can def take pride in the fact that for 40 mins, half our first team dominated the best team in the league on recent form.   JWP, Valery, Forster... so strong. Tragedy re Salisu. I can't stand the red card rule. Why should the same offense in the 40th minute be given 10x the penalty as it would in the 85th min? Makes zero sense. One player's momentary rash misjudgment spoils an entire sporting contest....

Great game ruined. Would have been a fantastic story, a Saints B team bossing Kane, Son et al. Now it'll be a sickening love in with the commentators crowing with delight as "fantastic" King Harry and Spus put us to the sword.

There is no issue with Salisu's yellows

Unless you consider that Dawson didn’t get one for two fouls and a take down in the box two days ago.

The inconsistency in the PL is an unfunny joke.

Better to keep 11 on the pitch than to concede a stupid penalty and a daft 2nd yellow. Have to blame Salisu there even if the first yellow was nuts.

Spot on

You can all moan about the referee but Salisu was a red card walking as soon as he got booked. Dumb from him to even try and win the ball for that penalty and now he misses a winnable game vs Newcastle.

Always a chance a spurs player gets sent off the way it’s going

I wasn't talking about the pen. Just the diving all game. It set the narrative for the red card.

Yup, defo booking and a pen but the gripe I have is the first booking. Turned to my mate a few mins before the pen and said the ref was giving them everything. Thats why Ralph got booked cos he was complaining about the same thing.

This is where the crowd needs to keep putting the pressure on him. And we need to keep winding Deli’s clock.

Does anyone think double jeopardy rule should apply when you're looking at second yellows too?

Perhaps the ref thought straight red as no covering defender, but double jeopardy makes it a yellow instead. Ultimately same result.

So that is KWP and Salisu out of the Newcastle game.

Assuming Newcastle can put out a team for it. Could be away at Wolves.

Absolute disaster, that. This game should've been a free hit - just get through it without any injuries or suspensions and focus all our energies on Newcastle, which is a key match.

Two suspensions (so far) out of our back line is the antithesis of what the doctor ordered.

Yan Valery at RB against Saint-Maximan? Yikes.

Salisu wasn't lasting the game regardless of his second yellow for an obvious penalty - he was reckless all half; there was a shocking all-or-nothing lunge on the halfway line that he was lucky to get away with just a minute or so earlier.

It's a pity, we were playing pretty well. But there's nothing there for us from this game now. Just dig in, maybe get a heroic point - but more importantly, don't pick up any more injuries or suspensions.

Anthony Taylor has been about as one sided as any official can be.

Feels a little like the Chelsea game. On the ascendancy then a red card to a key player kills the game. I think we're in for another lead thrown away unfortunately.

Double jeopardy meant it couldn't be a red at all as he'd given the penalty. That rule was changed to stop teams being punished twice for one foul, but that's what's happened here anyway.

Can see us struggling to get a team out for that now, particularly at the back. Salisu should have just let Son run on, it was obvious that Taylor wouldn't be happy until he'd sent at least one of ours off !

Hopefully ASM is injured, assuming NUFC fail to get the game called off.

The ref has been terrible but got the game changing big decision right.

We just need to stay in the game and hope for something from somewhere or hang on for a draw.

Saint Maximan probs out after picking injury up last night, I would have thought. But they’ll get it called off anyway. Just one call from a country leader should do it 👍

Ref hasn't even tried to disguise his bias all game, no way was he going to allow us to even get a point

I’d go for a walk to avoid watching the second half but it’s -33 outside, so 9:04 am booze is the only option.

Holy shit, it's a balmy -6 here. Where are you? Out west?

Stuart Armstrong doesn't seem right. He's got a chance to drive forward there and doesn't attempt it.

Been doing it all game, cutting back when he would normally drive on. Finally had that attacking instinct coached out of him.

He's saving himself for Ukraine in March...

Could it not count for the FA cup instead against Swansea?

I know different competition but still a domestic cup?

Although are we talking about Salisu or KWP here

There were loads of spurs players around him. Keeping the ball and getting support made sense for me.

Didn’t have any support?
