Perraud as a wing back seems to concentrate too much on the attacking side of the position.

Not sure it's fair to blame it on him. It wasn't his player that got the cross in unopposed.

My concern is more how ineffective the centrebacks are at clearing balls that come in from wide areas.

Decent first half, deserve to be in front  but can’t help feeling this has got a typical saints second half written all over it. Saints pretty good, Brentford pretty crap but still in it.

Haven't seen a woot for a while. Let's hope its a lucky one.

Haven't seen any nuns for a while either. Hopefully we won't need any.

Definitely eccentric and overcommitted, but there's talent there.

is there though? He clearly can handle a ball, but does he defend well, which is his primary job? He ain't that good in the air. He is not the most powerful CB, although he looks to be pretty quick. Has he got a good long pass? I'm not sure.  His decision making is terrible. He dives in, overplays and looks a liability to me. I guess that last part is the one he can improve in time, and if it does the ball skills and pace will make him a player. Will he learn though or is that just him?

might be a little harsh on Bednerak on this occasion - did he not have two to mark?  Felt like the formation didnt help with someone not picking up.

Absolutely, he was drawn towards Toney which was the obvious thing to do but some think Bednarek is at fault for every goal.

What did he say?

Said that Brentford's forward players will be disappointed if they stay up as relegation would make it easier for them to get a move to a bigger club but staying up "means having to stay at Brentford next season", and then when asked what he expected to see in the game he said "two sets of players putting in a good shift to try and put themselves in the shop window".

Essentially Toney and some others will be disappointed Brentford are staying up as they won’t get a move to a bigger club, such is Brentford’s approach. But never mind they’ll be okay at Brentford for a bit longer. Total twat. Then said this game was a shop window for players on both teams.

It’s not like he’s some raw 20 Year old. He’s 25 in 3 weeks time, he’s going to have to learn quickly.

the formation has Salisu running out wide to try and prevent a cross, failing and then its down to Lynco, Bednerek and hopefully Tella to pick up. Didn't happen. The formation helps in other situations though.

If you think of Lyanco as being better than Hooiveld, Danso or Caulker then he's actually reasonable enough. Nobody first rate is going to want to be back up for Southampton. Now we have the budget, I'd like to see someone better than Bednarek as first choice.

3-1!!

I'm extremely excited to see how good Broja becomes, whether it's with us or not.

Yes he's only 20 and already powerful, fast and a finisher. A joy to see him playing for us, even if it's just for now.

If that had been a Saints player, 20 minutes into the game, he'd be straight off.

Careful... You'll have Lord D (aka the bias police) on your case if you're not careful...

FFS that's the second time this season an opposition player has got away with a blatant second yellow (El Ghazi being the first).

Yet in our last two games we've had players sent off perhaps harshly for two yellows.

It's bollocks.
