Teams will sometimes beat the press. The issue is how other players react. Unfortunately Bednarek thought doing nothing was the right action.

if he had come across would JWP have been quick enough to get back and cover him - which was required?

The team just look numb, just going through the motions. I fear we will drop this year. The other strugglers have a bit of fight in them. We just shrug and accept defeat.

How many other teams in this league would take Stephens, Bednarek, Tella, Redmond and Armstrong in their starting line up? Not many.

None. Armstrong is proving to be an atrocious signing.

can wadd-powers not turn with the effing ball? The wad constantly receiving it in midfield from the CBs and immediately gives it back to them. The only time he plays one touch football is when he goes backwards which is 90% of the time. Wants to spend a little less time cutting holes in his socks and stretching his torso so he's able to turn 90 degrees when receiving the ball.

We're missing arguably our two most important defensive players, so the defensive weakness is disappointing but understandable.  What is so frustrating is how awful we are in the final third, we have so much of the ball in great areas and fail miserably constantly.  Armstrong is awful, he's nowhere near good enough to be as selfish as he is.

injuries add to our issues.

They're racking up again now aren't they.

We have better depth than we had this time last season, but our bench still looks woefully inadequate today.

That’s Armstrong out for a few weeks. Shame as he’s been so prolific for us….

What a rubbish signing A A has been.

It was kind of predictable though, not strong enough to be a PL player.

Yet again, the high press isn’t working and got picked off on the counter after a bright start. How thick a manager is someone when they keep on doing the same thing and getting the same shit result? 7 wins in 2021 is the answer. Pathetic. Squad isn’t great at all but it’s not Derby circa 2008 bad either.

The star RB is struggling on the left and the prospect 18 year old at RB is running out of steam. The LB bought for £12m won’t even get a game, what was the point? We can all see it but the stubborn dickhead on £6m pa can’t.

Gao out, Liebherr out, Ralph out, coaches out, Semmens out. New owner, manager and CEO asap as this rudderless vessel is sinking.

Yep when watching the YouTube reel it was clear that many of his goals would be saved easily by Prem teams and that he'd not get the space to take all the extra touches he needs.

Done well to win the ball high up the pitch loads of times in this game, including a couple of Arsenal gifts. We've done absolutely fuck all with those opportunities however.

maybe the system is better than the quality of players. or maybe they are both shit.

Great play Redmond. Caught on the break after our set piece AGAIN. FUCK OFF whoever is coaching this team. useless.

Enough now. Time to take JWP off dead ball duties (and, you could argue, off the pitch)

He's really not as good as he thinks he is and we never actually threaten from them. Piss poor delivery every time.

I don't think AA has been a poor signing. He's still adapting and deserves time.

But he's clearly not up the Ings standard. But we knew that already. We've got more players to cover things than last year but overall the quality is still lower I think.

Sky have just commented that Saints are the better team, Arsenal have the better players. That says it all.

Bored of hearing this. Pretty much every 1st half this season we've been the better team. Unfortunately you get nothing for playing well. You have to put the ball in the fucking net.

Norwich would probably be sniffing around most of them but after that I'm struggling.
