Why didn't we line up and play like we did v Man C and Chelsea this season? Much more effective.

I was asking that before we started. Sometimes managers think five at the back offers more security, but more often than not it just means center backs pulled out wide and massive gaps as no one really knows what they are doing.

Liverpool eased off when they were 5 up against Man Utd, hopefully they show us the same sort of mercy.

This will be 5 by 60 minutes.

Expecting them to not get at least another 2 in 30 minutes of open play is a bit ambitious.

They're not even out of 3rd gear right now.

The current scoreline is not an answer to the question I asked.

Well, the implication of my original post was that I couldn't understand how that team wouldn't lose easily. And it looks like we are losing easily.

Without regurgitating the keeper debate, but I’m going to anyway, I just feel McCarthy is too passive , when Forster plays he’s always shouting out instructions to the defence and I feel we play better as a result. Another on a long list of baffling Ralph decisions imo.

my word. We are getting stuffed, McCarty has done nothing wrong, yet you still pick him out for criticism. How about taking a look at the ten outfield players that have allowed them to walk goals in?

Other quality debate aside, McCarthy is the most timid indecisive terrified keeper I've seen play in the top flight. He doesn't have the personality for it.

He consistently looks and plays like he's only in goal because he was picked last.

So why does Ralph pick him? Every match. Lunacy.

Could be another catastrophe in the making !  Dont really get the 3 up front as it brings nothing apart from the odd long ball from the back ......Livermento getting roasted by Robertson and Perraud lack of game time is telling ...  Rather have played a 4 5 1 in my opinion

I agree a pretty ridiculous formation

Not even sure who could come in for Ralph even if I did want him out...BFS is the only available manager I'd take.

Lampard - No thank you. He's still not done anything of note as a manager and he's trying to rebuild his managerial career to get back to the top so he'd probably be off as soon as a slightly bigger job comes calling. Unlike Gerrard who had actually accomplished something and has his eye on one particular job and would have to do bloody well to get it.

Each to their own. I do.

So do I , but he’s as clueless as Ralph.
