Streaky Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 Does anybody know if the planned jumbo screens are being installed during the international break as part of the stadium improvements. All very quiet, was there a problem?.

All very quiet, was there a problem?. Expand They've been on about that for years. If they can't even clean a visibility mouldy roof / cladding (or whatever it's called) I'm pretty sure "jumbo screens" are a long way down the list. The screen thing has been mooted since about 2017. Never happened. Kingfisher beer took priority. Or something.
eurosaint Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 Tbf, they now have really big (and good quality) screens in the concourses but it would be great to get massive ones inside the stadium to watch replays etc..
The Cat Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 Screens in the stadium weren't even on for the Villa game. I was wondering if that meant there was work going on for their imminent replacement. The concourse looks so much better now in the family stand. A big tv and all the walls have been decorated. Are the other areas like that too?
Disco Stu Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 If the new screens aren't in place, I hope they fix the screen above the Northam in time for our next game. Not knowing how much time was left made for a more anxious second half. 1
Saint Garrett Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 Said originally, the big screens were going up in this international break. I'm expecting them to be there come the Leicester game. They've had a month to put them up.
Scummer Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 Surely anyone who drives past the stadium will be able to see if they've been done or not. They were supposed to be up by now.
nta786 Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 No excuse not to do it really, given that our next two PL games are away they technically have longer than the 2 week international break.
tunit Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 Drove over the Itchen today and didn't look like they had been replaced yet. Still two weeks before the next game though so plenty of time
bpsaint Posted 16 November, 2021 Posted 16 November, 2021 This was discussed in another thread, MLG hilariously made himself look a tit by claiming myself and others had made up stories that they were meant to be replaced in the October international break before it became clear the club had sneakily changed the article to state it would be sorted during the November International break. Curious to see how big they’re going to be - perhaps they can get someone to fix and clean the leaky roof whilst they’re up there. 1

Expand Probably make a bigger hole 😉 Poor bloke 4 rows below us gets Japanese water torture on his left shoulder every single time it piddles down, 4 minutes per drip (coincided with the board going up one match then a bloke behind runs his stopwatch "thats the 4 up" splosh! the wind was up missed his shoulder direct hit on his head) 4
djharvey Posted 22 November, 2021 Posted 22 November, 2021 1.5 acres of freehold land opposite the stadium for sale, waterfront, be surprised if the club aren't interested? 1

Expand Probably because of the increase in commercial income (needed to increase our transfer/wages budget under FFP rules) they could obtain from the bars, restaurants and whatever else they built on it. But disapointingly, I'd imagine if the club were seriously interested in a plot so close to home it wouldn't have needed to be advertised for sale in the first place.

Expand So many issues here. 1. West Quay (behind the walls) was built for that purpose and it's never been heaving there. Slim chance it would heave in the stadium area. 2. The fact it's in the vicinity of the stadium means the police/council would never clear a venue like that. 3. If people are going out on a Saturday night, that shit heap of a location is the last they'd go. It's too far from anywhere else. 2
