Does anybody know if the planned jumbo screens are being installed during the international break as part of the stadium improvements. All very quiet, was there a problem?.

They've been on about that for years.

If they can't even clean a visibility mouldy roof / cladding (or whatever it's called) I'm pretty sure "jumbo screens" are a long way down the list.

The screen thing has been mooted since about 2017.

Never happened.

Kingfisher beer took priority.

Or something.

Tbf, they now have really big (and good quality) screens in the concourses but it would be great to get massive ones inside the stadium to watch replays etc..

Screens in the stadium weren't even on for the Villa game. I was wondering if that meant there was work going on for their imminent replacement.

The concourse looks so much better now in the family stand. A big tv and all the walls have been decorated. Are the other areas like that too?

If the new screens aren't in place, I hope they fix the screen above the Northam in time for our next game. Not knowing how much time was left made for a more anxious second half.

Drove over the Itchen today and didn't look like they had been replaced yet. Still two weeks before the next game though so plenty of time

This was discussed in another thread, MLG hilariously made himself look a tit by claiming myself and others had made up stories that they were meant to be replaced in the October international break before it became clear the club had sneakily changed the article to state it would be sorted during the November International break.

Curious to see how big they’re going to be - perhaps they can get someone to fix and clean the leaky roof whilst they’re up there.

Probably make a bigger hole 😉

Poor bloke 4 rows below us gets Japanese water torture on his left shoulder every single time it piddles down, 4 minutes per drip (coincided with the board going up one match then a bloke behind runs his stopwatch "thats the 4 up" splosh! the wind was up missed his shoulder direct hit on his head)

1.5 acres of freehold land opposite the stadium for sale, waterfront, be surprised if the club aren't interested?

Why so they could put a big screen down ther? save going to St Marys for the lack of atmosphere not being generated by pedestrian style football imo.

Why would a business with no capital, a huge debt and disinterested shareholders want to buy a shitty scrap of land?

Isn't it obvious? So we could build a posh mooring point for potential investors to park their super yachts of course.

Gao and co have been biding their time on the massive waterfront regeneration project and BAM here it comes.

Sounds perfect for a big Amazon Depot….perhaps Bezos (Americans recently reported…?) is/was interested…?

All makes sense to me.

That's why you would fail as a business man.

It makes good sense for Plan C......

Said same business with no capital, a huge debt and disinterested shareholders is planning to build a new larger gym for the 1st team down at Staplewood!

Probably because of the increase in commercial income (needed to increase our transfer/wages budget under FFP rules) they could obtain from the bars, restaurants and whatever else they built on it.

But disapointingly, I'd imagine if the club were seriously interested in a plot so close to home it wouldn't have needed to be advertised for sale in the first place.

What would we call the bar, the Cement Lounge?

Doubt we would call it anything. Far more likely to be renting out premises for a guaranteed income to the likes of Wetherspoons, Costa, Wagamama, Prezzo, Rock Up, Hollywood Bowl and various other chains willing to pay high rents for premises guaranteeing 30k potential cusomers on their doorstep once a fortnight but also benefit from a riverside location with views on non-match days.

Plus parking at the stadium on non match days.

Easy. Gasworks.

we can charge fans £200 or similar to avoid drinking with the “great unwashed”.

Piece of piss, then. Surprised someone else hasn't thought of it.

Especially as the hospitality industry has been doing so well in the last five years.

I'm hoping for a Jamie's Italian, a Byron Burger a Chiquito and hopefully a Debenhams and a Top Man.

Club will printing money, printing money I tell you.

So many issues here.

1. West Quay (behind the walls) was built for that purpose and it's never been heaving there. Slim chance it would heave in the stadium area.

2. The fact it's in the vicinity of the stadium means the police/council would never clear a venue like that.

3. If people are going out on a Saturday night, that shit heap of a location is the last they'd go.

It's too far from anywhere else.
