If the crowd quoted above is correct that is really good. The article in The Guardian on the road to Wembley had a crowd of 71 for Forest v Stoke in the previous round (if that is also correct..). I wonder if Hants FA might postpone our Sunday fixtures if Saints get a really plum home tie, although the rest of my team support, if anyone,  Pompey.

That's a really good victory. Well done Saints. I think Bristol are only a few points off 3rd in the division above. Hopefully a nice boost to the league as well.

To be honest it was a dreadful game and saints were fortuitous to get through based on chances created. Bristol looked a level above but will rue hitting post, one off the line and our keeper making a fine save. Tricky right winger gave our left back a tough time. The two centre backs and keeper looked decent for saints. We seem to lack any form of pace in attack. Passing in final 3rd was awful. I'm not sure what I was expecting to be honest, perhaps too much. Can't say I'll be rushing to go again anytime soon. Fair play to club £3 a ticket and kids go in free drew a good crowd but didn't stop us leaving at 90 mins.

To be fair you could have been talking about the mens team at home for the last 2.5 years (excluding this season) 😆 but £35 odd quid in pocket.

The Twitter live match day updates are still piss poor. Either nothing is happening or the reporter has gone to the bar. Terrible.

Unless I've misread it I think it's being run by the players, so chances are they were too engrossed in actually watching the game. Really think we should invest in hiring a commentator to do actual broadcasts on the website - preferably streaming the game as well.

I must say, the removal of your negative energy must have worked a treat. Well played pal !

Draw for the next round this evening,  I believe. Would be good to see how we fare against a WSL team. Though would also be good to progress a round or two further before we do...

I mean they literally are a level above, and last season were in the WSL...

Every game seems to be either Portsmouth or Ipswich this season!

Looks like we do have some real quality in the squad, and wouldn't be out of our depth up a division

If we beat Ipswich it's the 1/4 finals? That would be a brilliant achievement for a team in 3rd tier , surely they'll have no chance if we draw a top tier side

Fair point, we could be like 3rd tier Palace making the semis

Win or lose it will be a brilliant achievement for a 3rd tier team to be in the 1/4 finals. West Brom could conceivably beat Coventry.

I surely must have had expectations going into a football match at some point. Repeated viewing of the teams I support must have long since got rid of it. 🙂

As mentioned, it was tougher opposition. Hopefully seeing some league games will either:-

1) Be better value for you, as Saints are on an upward curve. You get the added bonus of saying "I was there" in years to come if they repeat the feats of the men's team.

2) Repeated viewing isn't any better for you. But after a while it does remove transient things like hopes, dreams and expectations, and you keep returning either out of sheer habit, or just for an afternoon out, some fresh air and to give some support while you're there. 🙂

A win-win all round!

Won again 1-0 today in League Cup.  Play Crawley in the semis.

This is just our regional 3rd tier league isn't it? None of the "big" teams involved.

Hashtag United, what a club, I know the mens team got through a few rounds in the fa cup , what's the name all about?

Hashtag are in the 4th tier (FA Women’s National League Division One South). They used to be Basildon, but merged with the (men's) Hashtag United in 2020. Hashtag United history - https://footballpink.net/the-internet-club-the-story-of-hashtag-united/

Meanwhile Ipswich dropped another 2 points in the League (0-0 v MK Dons). Saints now 9 points adrift but with 5 games in hand and 4 behind Oxford with 3 games in hand.

Apparently they were created by a youtube "Celeb" who makes money playing FIFA but that's as much as I know!

Thanks, interesting the power of building a big YouTube audience, surprised they get that many people following online when you consider avg crowds at that level of non-league but good luck to them for trying something different.

You'd hope we win enough of the games in hand and get promoted, sounds like the only way they'll keep best players and attract new talent, big chance to progress in the FA cup will enhance their reputation as well.

The final is a North v South job.   If we beat Crawley the final will be against Liverpool Feds or Huddersfield T /Brighouse

You'd expect to win that cup then , but number of fixtures is bound to take its toll in the run in so perhaps Saints will give a chance to some younger players, same with the Hampshire cup. None of the Saints players are full time are they? Having to balance a job with playing adds to the challenge.

They have quite a big squad of reliable players . They also have a daunting fixture list though. Their development team is top of their league as well.

I’m am still finding our Twitter feed a little crap. I can follow what is going on at Oxford United and Ipswich even if there are not goals. But we kicked off and there was nothing more on our feed until we took the lead in injury time in the first half. Nothing saying it was half time or anything happening during the game. Seriously Saints sort it out!

we are all away today and all finding it tough at the moment.

but we are winning 1-0

Ipswich 0-0 but kicked off at 2:30

Oxford 2-1 they kicked off at 13:30

Any update on when all the matches we missed will be rescheduled? We still have 5 in hand vs Ipswich, and nothing is on the league website

Dates for most matches shown on the League web site (Full-Time), London Bees and Oxford still to be rescheduled

Last game currently 1st May v Cardiff, Ipswich and Oxford meet the previous week.

Saints Women's Developmental Squad are also top of their league and beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 away yesterday to reach the final of their knock out cup. They play Wolves. TBA.     Talent pipeline is open and flowing!
