Who said all? You seem to be the one at pains to excuse them

“The racist morons”

”love it in front of the racist cunts”

Just a couple of quotes on this thread. Seems like a labelling of the entire crowd, Both posts before the reports of Monkey noises too.

Nothing judgemental about that at all

I assume you are on Twitter? If so is your timeline full off people sharing your views and no one condemning what is obvious to the normal supporter?

Interesting they’re showing the cups being thrown at Stirling but not them being thrown at Kane or Shaw. Seems like the players didn’t hear the reported monkey noises. I wonder why…

One cup was thrown at Kane.  Pay attention

On a less depressing note and know he splits opinion but love Keane as a pundit.

this is well worth a watch to understand him a bit more

I didn't see the game and popped on this thread. Completely dominated by the racist / not racist bollox we've had time and time again. If sections of the crowd are making monkey chants, sections of the crowd are racist - it's pretty fucking obvious.

I've no idea how we played though, sadly.

Peformance Second half very good. Kane should have had 4 Missed 3 one on ones.

As an impartial view of the “racism” here’s what happened. They booed the knee which triggered a few on here to get on their crusade. Stirling scored and had a few paper cups thrown at him as he took off his top and celebrated in front of their ultras. Slightly provocative IMO. Then Kane scored and also had a few cups thrown at him. Less than Stirling but then he didn’t run to the corner taking his shirt off.  No mention of that. Then later At the same end Shaw was pelted with cups as he took a corner. Then there were reports of a section of crowd making monkey chants. They asked Kane after the game if he heard it and he said no and would ask boys if they did. Presumably as no one reacted they hadn’t either. But of course the media is full of reports of racist abuse and England beating the racists. I’m not denying there were monkey chants but there couldn’t have been many as only a few reporters seem to have heard them and black and white players were pelted with plastic cups but they’ve not mentioned that. But as they booed the knee then everyone on here was already screaming racism before the game had kicked off so all got very excited when things got a bit tasty in the second half

So we played well, Sterling wound them up, there may have made some monkey chants from a section of the crowd, and the knee booing is again deemed racist.

Got it.

The highlights are now on ITV game so I'll check it out.

Cheers 👍

OK so finally I am biting!

Do you want to just come out and state what your real issue is? Rather than being the troll that you clearly are. Is the media biased? Are cups being thrown acceptable to any player? If you watch carefully cups (and more cups) were thrown at Sterling than others - none of which is acceptable whatsoever. I suppose the burning flare was video edited by the biased media?

After a lot of painful thought, I revealed some personal experiences of racism and why it still exists and the impact a while ago, but I guess it was wasted on you.

This is not a contest/competition - there are no winners here. We either all live as a harmonious nation or pick at sections of the community (like Brexit) and then end up with the kingdom of White Southampton Saints supports Independence Republic.

If you are going to solve a problem, you first acknowledge there is one. If you don't believe there is one, then fair enough but don't pretend there is one and you're fighting the good fight.

Well it's international weekend so a time to go to a match at a lower league local football club, in my case FA Cup 1st Round qualification match Nantwich Town v Grantham, I find grass roots football a refreshing change. Is anyone else on here taking the opportunity to go to a lower league game?

Didn't go to a game today but I'm a big fan of non league, early rounds of the FA Cup bring up some great fixtures, good to see Sholing progress again.

Many in attendance at Nantwich?

450 attended.  Won 2 0. Great afternoon out for £11 adult / £3 child prices. Excellent referee as well, let things flow but was on top of poor challenges when required. The opponents were Grantham managed by Carlton Palmer!!

My son now lives in Southampton and went to an Eastleigh game last week and would go to Sholing if they get a home draw in the next round, he was up visiting for the weekend so came with me to the Nantwich game.

Watched the 1st qualifying round Lichfield V Nuneaton tie earlier on I-Player. Cracking game, and good quality, both played football, finished 3-1 to Nuneaton. Nuneaton had Carl Baker ex Coventry (scored against Saints for Stockport in League 1) and Leroy Lita off the bench. Carl Baker’s son cut in and scored a long range beauty as did Edmund for Nuneaton’s first but a good contest for 95% of the tie despite two divisions difference. Leon Osman good co-commentator as well.

Enjoyed that more than any non international football match for quite some time.

Randomly I used to know a Nantwich player. I used to work for a company whose head office was in Crewe and he worked there. I thought you’d like to know that irrelevant but at the same time intriguing story

Surely if you’re a bloke interested in football from somewhere like Andorra or Litchenstein you’ve got a great chance of being an international footballer. Population of 77k, half women, probably of what’s left 2/3s of those either too old or young.
