Everton making themselves look absolute mentalists at the moment, not just the club/board it's self but the fans as well.

Fair enough they don't want Vitor Pereria, but it's a bit of an own goal to graffiti 'Pereria out' across the stadium when he hasn't even been appointed yet.

Granted, he sounds like an absolutely horrific choice but still they're not helping themselves.

Why's that? His win % is 55, not too shabby.

He was a decent name back in the 12's/13's, but since he relegated 1860 Munich (they still haven't returned, now in tier 3 of Germany) his name has been badly tarnished.

He's been giving weird media interviews today about the Everton Interview process, he sounds a bit of a nutter all told.

With Fenerbahce. Their total dominance of the Turkish league is akin to Celtic's in Scotland after Rangers imploded.

He sounds like a bit of an egomaniac prone to falling out with star players a la Mourinho. But I guess as they don't really have any star players that won't matter.

Everton fans not known for intelligence when it comes to graffiti. I remember going to our game there in 04/05 after Rooney had left for Utd, and on a wall near the ground I saw "DIY RONEY SCUM" 😂

That figure is across his managerial career. Don't get me wrong, I don't give a crap who the Everton manager is but 'horrific' seems a bit OTT.

Watched The Big Match today at lunchtime on ITV4 , Saints v Fulham ‘76 4-1 to Saints , George Best red card for foul language to ref ! Quite a few heavy tackles by Saints on Rodney Marsh and others .Osgood , Mcdougal , Channon  etc for Saints . McDougal and Mel Blyth ? Scored. 2 each . Ted’s goals excellent and Mel’s both headers well taken. Alex Stock moaning about fouls by Saints and no bookings whereas Fulham got several in the book . Worse than foul language !!

Everything has improved vastly since those days, apart from the atmosphere and enjoyment. IMO.

Bring it on, I’d love Everton to go down, more so than Newcastle or Leeds.

The Sporting Lisbon manager - Ruben Amorim is the man you want if you're exploring the Portuguese managerial market. They play great football, he has a +100 GD there from 65 matches, a 74.71% win percentage and took them to their first league title in 20 years last season. They're currently second and finished second in their CL group, above Dortmund and have Man City next month.

Surprised he hasn't gained more attention.

I thought the format of the winter break was to split the fixtures across two weeks (five games one weekend and five the next) so that all clubs get a break but there are still games both weekends.

When did it turn into this bullshit?

There was the trial in 19/20, when it was exactly that - half one week, half the next etc.

For whatever reason the powers that be have decided to have a full 15 day break for everyone. Probably pressure from the big six and Newcastle, so they can get all their signings in and integrated with the squad.

You'd think this would be the perfect gap to play all of the re-arranged fixtures, daft really. Weirdly I notice an exception has been made for Burnley v Watford which is played next weekend, one of the re-arranged fixtures. That Newcastle postponement stinks even more.

Lampard has been offered the Everton job according to the Liverpool Echo.

Looks like it is reported everywhere now.

Can't see it working myself: he's going to make Mike Walker look like Bill Shankly.

That’s because next weekend is FA cup weekend and as both teams are knocked out, getting a game in there means all PL teams still get their two weeks off.

After all those games were cancelled due to 'covid' the winter break should have been cancelled and as many games as possible rearranged.  Most teams have already had a break due to fixtures being postponed for dubious reasons. Newcastle must be loving the huge advantage they have been given over their relegation rivals.

Not exactly a level playing field is it

It's actually not a 'winter break' as such, it's because this week is officially designated as an international break. Although there are no games in Europe, there are plenty of World Cup qualifiers being played around the world this week.

Correct. Full round of Asia and South America qualifiers, catching up on cancelled games to complete qualifying in time for the World Cup. It does allow teams who are out of the FA Cup to have quite a long break.

We shouldn’t stop League for South American games but f**k it I should be able to cope one weekend without games.
Worse possible timing cos even more focus on bs dull transfer stories about which youth player no one has heard of is going out on loan from Leicester to Rochdale.

I didn’t think Lampard did a terrible job at Chelsea. Fashionable to mock only English manager over the exotic foreigner though.

By no means do I think it will be a success but there are plenty of fans who just fawn over likes of Tuchel. Yeah he won the CL although that won’t save him at Chelsea if they carry on for much longer being as shit as hey have been recently

Ivan Toney has to apologise to Brentford after saying 'f**k Brentford' in social media post.

Classy.

Perhaps Tim Sherwood was right. 😂 He needs to concentrate on scoring some non-penalty goals up here, looks like a bit of a dick in the video.

Meanwhile, the winter break consists of Newcastle playing Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia. Ciaran Clark was sent off for hitting someone. It's another window to play money friendlies around the world and then managers will come back moaning that their players are tired again. 🤷‍♂️

Agreed. First season he done well getting them into the top 4 and integrating a lot of the younger players (Mount etc.), which seem to just be forgotten.

Second season, they became slightly too predictable to play against.

The only thing with Lampard for me is he seems too nice and I can imagine giving the players a fairly easy time of it, where as your tuchel, klopps etc. Are just perfectionists and demand ridiculous intensity at all times (the difference between a good and great manager I guess).

That being said, If (big if), he’s given 2 / 3 seasons at Everton to turn the tide and build his own squad, I think he could do okay there.

His old club , freed the players up , like Ole, to start with but when they were sussed out he didn't have an answer . Remember his head in hands , slumped shoulders etc body language when it started to go wrong ???

Might as well appoint Big Dunc, he and Lampard are probably about the same level.

Big game tomorrow, Canada vs USA in WC qualifiers.

Canada are currently top of concacaf with 5 to play. Top 3 qualify for Qatar.

We negotiated the potential banana skin the other night winning 2-0 in Honduras.

I'd bite yer arm off for a draw tomorrow.

Nice that we've played our part in the top scorer of the top two divisions.

Depends really, Shearer didn’t score for us in the Premier League.
Jimmy Greaves has the most top-flight goals.
