East Kent Saint Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 Well done Whelk you’ve got him a goal 😆 1 1
Badger Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 Glad Che has scored, do his confidence the world of good. Think I might have a battered mars bar to celebrate. 1
Badger Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 Armstrong just gone off. Hopefully get some game time to come back fit and firing for us.
CB Fry Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 Nice to see him get one. Surprised to see McGinn involved though? 4

whelk Posted 12 November, 2021 Author Posted 12 November, 2021 (edited) Didn’t realise how ‘perilous’ our qualification was. Imagine that shit World Cup that disrupts all normal football in Nov and Dec wand we hadn’t qualified? think we might be ok now despite Kyle Walker’s best attempts Edited 12 November, 2021 by whelk
Teddeer Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 zzzzz! Crowd may as well have gone home at half time.
Baird of the land Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 Watched N.Ireland scrape a win. Steven Davis is still class(in what's likely to be his penultimate international game). Fortunately for N.Ireland Lithuania were clinical when it came to the OG.
trousers Posted 12 November, 2021 Posted 12 November, 2021 Do we know why Bednarek wasn't in the Poland squad today?

Seems strange, can't find any details, bit odd with the whole Saints squad being told to work from home this week as well? Only players who have actually featured so far in internationals, Djenepo for Mali Armstrong/ Adams for Scotland Smallbone for Ireland u21s JWP (illness), Livramento (injury) Broja (injury?) and Bednarek absent.
Billy the Kidd Posted 13 November, 2021 Posted 13 November, 2021 Have we asked players to stay hom e due to Covid during the international break - didnt Redmond have it? Not a bad idea to have most in theory isolating for a week or so.

"Working from home" when you have an International break and a chance to work on stuff on the training ground is not the done thing.

Yeah the WFH thing was pretty funny, like as in how a team sport work at home. Guess they are keeping fitness up, maybe videos of automations, and Norwich tactics and stuff. It’s pretty boring also with the international breaks, cant stand them.
HarvSFC Posted 13 November, 2021 Posted 13 November, 2021 To be fair, the last time the team worked from home (lockdown), we came back as Manchester City. Norwich's time to prepare for the match with a new manager is ticking by too.
Lighthouse Posted 14 November, 2021 Posted 14 November, 2021 Would have been funnier if they’d added some Jim Ross WWE commentary, instead of that stupid music.
Lighthouse Posted 14 November, 2021 Posted 14 November, 2021 A Tadic goal and assist send Serbia to the World Cup. 1

egg Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 Looks like 3 CB's against the mighty San Marino. The mind boggles.
Lighthouse Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 TBF I highly doubt that was picked as being the optimal team to beat San Marino. Much more likely Gareth has assumed we'll get the job done regardless of formation and he wants to experiment with his set up and players.
M271 Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 Adams starts and Armstrong on the bench for Scotland. 1

The Cat Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 Didn't really know where else to post it, but this advert on Leicester's Instagram must be going down a storm with their traditional fans. 1

Personally, I'd prefer to see another forward player on the pitch rather than relying on Mings or Maguire.
HarvSFC Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 We played a back four plus Foden, Mount, Sterling, Kane and Grealish against the mighty Hungary just last month and it didn't work and we drew 1-1. I know it's only San Marino, but it doesn't do any harm to pick a system and then stick to it. The wing-backs are also key attackers in this formation.

Teddeer Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 Trent Alexander thinks he's above singing his country's national anthem. Southgate should tell him to open his mouth and sing next time.

Sheaf Saint Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 What a stupid penalty decision. The touch was so faint and didn't alter the fact the shot was off target.

Chapel End Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 Just how soul destroying must it be for San Marino but fair play for them for turning out each time
whelk Posted 15 November, 2021 Author Posted 15 November, 2021 Switched to Northern Ireland v a Italy. Be hilarious if don’t qualify
The Cat Posted 15 November, 2021 Posted 15 November, 2021 I've been watching some of the Scotland game. Che Adams seems to be playing really well. 1
