doesn’t sound too far off a drunken Glaswegian - I know it’s difficult to tell the difference!

Before you make too many judgement calls before the facts come out a la Hillsborough, it does appear they've been pepper spraying crowds including children, and those with tickets. A twitter from a media person :

Just watched police charge and tear gas parents with kids at Gate Z

Have a look at correspondent Mark Ogden's twitter - fans in a queue with tickets on the other side of a barrier from police being gratuitously pepper sprayed..

Even Gary Lineaker caught up in it seems a lot were trying to get in 2 hours before KO and French Rozzers being awkward.

There are also videos all over Twitter of pissed Liverpool fans climbing over barriers, pissing at the feet of the French police and generally being vermin.

It’s quite clear that people trying to climb and storm the gates will have been mingled in with the rare example of Liverpool’s reasonable fans, women and children. Tear gas and pepper spray is not a person-specific crowd control device and a somewhat blunt instrument.

Looks like Madrid are playing a cool game,  soaking up Liverpool pressure, letting them get slowly tired and then will hit them in the final third of the game.

Come on Real!

Saw a stack of kids wearing Liverpool shirts earlier in Exmouth(!) and have been imagining them crying like babies all day.

Bit weird, but agree with the sentiment.

Fair enough perhaps. Any reason why those with tickets including children weren’t able to get in the stadium earlier if Madrid fans managed it ?

Yep. Despite the Scouse gits having a few chances, I get the impression RM are playing well within themselves. Very much in second gear right now.

That the thing I've been wondering.

The allocated turnstiles were opened and then closed several times but not letting people through apparently , difficult to understand why .

Typical bloody French. Turnstile operators on wildcat strikes.

Liverpool bossed most of the half. But you could see the out ball Madrid were looking for, and they were hiding their time until the chance came. A couple of little fumbles from Liverpool gave Madrid openings, and TAA had a couple of misplaced passes early on. With Madrid looking stronger at the end of the half, it should be a good second half.

They said the Liverpool fans had nearly all got in early on. Hopefully everyone is safe.

Thousands of ticketed fans still outside trying to get in apparently but the Liverpool end is so packed fans are standing in the aisles and stairwells. Surely not ticketless scousers causing the trouble!?

Madrid have been tactically excellent. Restricted Liverpool to a few chances and maintained a danger going forward. Not quite sure how that goal was disallowed, bizarre rule

Didn’t they do the same at another European final? Loads of fans with tickets missed it because fans without tickets stormed the turnstiles

Will be the fault of the French police.

They need to be careful. There might be a 'too many fans in the stand, a few people hurt, scenario.'

(Is that comment in bad taste??)

No, I just hope the fans who got in are ones who have paid a fortune to get tickets not scum who have selfishly stormed the gates. They’ve got previous with this.

I worry about the 'Pool players now.

A goal behind, in such a big game and with so many asthma victims on the pitch, it could get ugly.

Good spectacle this. Very enjoyable game.

Yep.

And it's interesting to think about which of the players we'll be signing this summer.

He’s made the wrong decision every single times he’s done anything. Someone on here said he’s the best right back in the world a few weeks ago

He's not even the best right back on this pitch.

Would be fucking funny if they’d used their inhalers before the delay was announced and the effectiveness had run out by the time the game started.
