The penalty isn't over until the ball is dead, so a keeper can have multiple touches if that is what it takes to stop the ball going in. Otherwise a situation could see a keeper unable to do anything as he watches a back spinning ball go over the line.

Time to bring back TWar mate, this login is getting rinsed again

Why wouldn't he be allowed?

If he wasn't allowed a keeper could do nothing to prevent this...

Haha. That feels like my whole life summed up in one video clip.

Now on to more important matters. Having won the FA Cup I really feel Klopp should let his whole squad go on a three or four day drinking binge.......say, until Wednesday morning.

They'd still hammer us.

VAR saving Totteringham.

How can an arm be in an "unnatural position" unless one is defying anatomical contraints or has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome? When did deliberate handball (intent) change to the nebulous "unnatural positon"?

Those sort of decisions are shocking really, that could cost them a place in the league. They were doing well up until that point and had a clear way of playing, which was to frustrate and contain. They were set up to defend, so I can't see anyway for them in this one now as they're going to have to chase, which means gaps and breaks against them.

Liverpool really need to batter whoever they play next if it stays like this…….

On plus side we can play with gay abandon and thwart them on Tuesday

If City lose 2-0, and Liverpool put five past Saints on Tuesday, they’ll go into the last game dead even on points, goal difference and goals scored.

2-1. Liverpool will need 6 against us now to create that scenario. Simply cannot see it happening…..

Leeds have finished 1-1 so we are mathematically safe.

Bigger goal for Leeds, I think they’d had it if they lost today. In Burnley’s hands with the midweek game at Villa but recently got rinsed by them at home. Newcastle home last up, but would be in Leeds’s hands at Brentford if Burnley don’t get anything at Villa Park. Everton will beat Brentford and seal safety, cue the press beating their tadgers about Frank Lampard.

Wolves have really trailed off over the last couple of months, really looked at one point like they'd be in those European places but have in recent months lost to Palace, lost to Leeds, lost to Brighton, lost to Burnley, lost to Newcastle, got smashed by City and only managed to draw to Norwich. Only won 3 of their last 12 games, with only really hard games against City and Chelsea.

The middle of the league is really a much of a muchness. Considering how utterly awful we have been, we really aren't much behind the likes of Villa, Palace, Leicester, Wolves etc. 2-3 win here and there, which can really come down to to a bit of luck with a goal or a decision.

Amazing how any side can cope with the scouse passion unseen anywhere else by any other fans

Haha, yes, very true

Could you imagine the additional nonsense if Liverpool had a Ukrainian in their team!?!

They will still stay up but that’s pretty funny.

Never know and although down to 10 they can’t seem to sustain for 90 mins. Palace won’t be easy for them and might choke again. Then Arsenal last game so just hope Leeds can do Brentford next week and Burnley manage a win out of last 2 games

I actually still think they’ll finish above us regardless of what happens today.

Assuming they lose this, that would require them to get some sort of result away at Arsenal on the final day and I just can't see it personally. Especially if they have already secured safety by beating Palace in midweek.
