OttawaSaint Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Perhaps Leeds were a bit too naive when many others were getting games canceled for cough cough covid. They played with a weakened team and now with Everton ahead, Leeds could be gone.

AlexLaw76 Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Everton almost score a 2nd, then Leicester run up the other end, Everton defenders cock it up and it is 1-1 1
obelisk Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 "Perhaps Southampton looking over their shoulders", says the commentator. They sure are. 😬

OttawaSaint Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Leeds are terrible, can barely get the ball to the half way line.

I did so because it seems he wasn't aware that saying 10 minutes into a game 'Just like that Everton are out of it' is jumping the gun. Especially as there was an equaliser shortly afterwards.

Saint_clark Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Nketiah available on a free in the summer. Would be a perfect signing for a skint Saints side (especially with strikers being overpriced generally), would get us 10+ goals a season and mean we could focus funds on the defense and keeper.

Especially as there was an equaliser shortly afterwards. I am fully aware that the game isn’t over yet. It is true though that with one goal they can take themselves out of the relegation zone, but yes equally a Leicester goal would bring them back in it. My post was written more with a pessimism that Everton will survive, and would make me happier should it be wrong later this afternoon.
OttawaSaint Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 (edited) Lost their heads here. Shame, I'd prefer Everton dropped but as I mentioned earlier when the likes of Newcastle and Everton were getting games postponed, Leeds played on with a makeshift team and got a few pastings. Very naive of them. Edited 8 May, 2022 by OttawaSaint
obelisk Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Ayling definitely on the beach this season now then. Leeds might implode here.
Lighthouse Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 I'd have taken Raphinha off instead, before they end up with 9 men.
trousers Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 (edited) FFS. Will Leicester be this charitable when we play them...? Edited 8 May, 2022 by trousers
nta786 Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Just like that, they are out of the relegation zone again! Can someone tell me if the game is finished yet? 1
OttawaSaint Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 If ever there was anydoubt that the players are a bit thick then that moment erased it. What did Asling think he would achieve by diving in like that?

I hope you are aware that the game consists of two 45 minute periods each with a potential amount of time added to them for stoppages and substitutions. Only then, after the final blow of the referee's whistle is the match deemed to be completed. It is at that moment the number of accrued points, one for a draw, three for a win will be added to the previous totals of the teams involved. 1 4

obelisk Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Assuming an Arsenal win then, if Leeds don't get anything against Chelsea midweek then Saints superior GD makes them virtually safe even with a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool. 1

OttawaSaint Posted 8 May, 2022 Posted 8 May, 2022 Pickford is saving Everton's bacon. Two incredible saves in the last 5 minutes.
