Assistant Referees (Linesmen) in the Premier League have been trained not to put their flag up if they are in any doubt about offside because VAR will check and overrule if necessary. Such ARs might then behave the same way if officiating at a non-VAR stadium.

If you want to be pedantic yes the "rules" are technically the same, but if the current game was being played at Selhurst Park the Palace penalty claim might well have been awarded on review. Also, it is entirely possible that PL teams playing at home will be able to take advantage of their experience of VAR to play offside more tightly, for instance.  All teams should have the benefit of a level playing field.

Should we have the same ref at every FA cup 3rd round game to make conditions the same for all teams? ðŸ¤”

Which I'm assuming these ones in the Palace fameare, as Antony Taylor is the ref.

No, just referees that are officiating under the same conditions.

This has been my problem all along with VAR. The same interpretation and application of The Laws should apply at all levels of the game.

Olise for Palace looks a good player, scores a goal and a great assist just then. Millwall defender does make it easy for him to get onto his left foot though. £8m from Reading and EPL young player of the season last year apparently.

Mansfield have been all over Boro this second half and their first equaliser looks like it should have stood. VAR probably would have overruled the lino there.

Glad it's 2-2, this one could go either way now.

Wonder how long they’ll give Howe. He’s been a disaster so far. Can imagine their owners getting impatient already

I doubt even Newcastle's new owners have enough money to turn that shower of shit round. No wonder they wanted their game against us called off. Their forum has gone into melt down today.

A really good FA Cup day today, lots of good games and some cracking results. Kidderminster beating Reading was a massive upset, I hope they get a big tie in the next round.
