That just shows how fragile the Internet DNS system can be. It looks like Akamai issued an update that 'poisoned' the root DNS system. A few years ago the Pakistan government tried to introduce a filter at their Internet 'border' based on DNS, and ended up disrupting the whole of the Middle Eat, South East Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.

This is nothing that's not been said before really. I remember a colleague telling me about a book he'd been reading back in the early 80's written by some eminent ecologist or other. His line, from what I remember was that we shouldn't try too hard to eradicate disease in the 3rd world because it would eventually lead to chronic overpopulation to the detriment of all. Wish I could remember the author's name, I'd look it up to see how accurate his thesis has become.

Surely once we have eaten all the natural resources the more humans there are the better- They are a good source of protein? 

I reckon that's why the Chinese have relaxed the rule on two children..Stocking up the larder!
