Memory may be wrong, but Isn’t that why we went to ET / Penalties rather than through back in 2007.

I don’t think they did have it, we lost the home game 1-2 then won 3-2 away at the end normal and extra time so went to pen. Away goals rule we win. Edited 25 June, 2021 by Turkish
East Kent Saint Posted 25 June, 2021 Posted 25 June, 2021 They say it is because the home advantage has been reduced by decent pitches , improved travel for away teams etc so the statistical advantage has reduced , It is also said that for Women's football there is still an advantage but they have to come in line anyway !
sadoldgit Posted 25 June, 2021 Posted 25 June, 2021 Didn’t they bring the rule in originally because many away teams always parked the bus and it was supposed to encourage them to attack? Glad to see the change which I always thought was grossly unfair. A goal should be worth a goal, plain and simple.

whelk Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 So typical of FA to announce an extension to Southgate’s contract. How about seeing how the dullard does against Germany first eh? 1

Quote Bullingham expects to hold "formal conversations" with Southgate over his contract after Euro 2020. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57618624

Antrimsaint Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Really looking forward to Wales v Denmark then realise its Savage commentating. Christ will have to try and sync radio with tv. 1

I always felt the away team would go for an away goal. I think the away team will now always play for a clean sheet and get them back home before opening up. We’ll wait and see but could be a recipe for dull defensive football.

A goal is a goal and if over two legs both sides have scored the same amount, one side has not achieved victory over the other.

Ok, but its as good as 96, little success since then so its relative. England are a second tier European nation in football terms. Id say Semi finals are its level in a good tournament. With home advantage it could go to the final so Id say this is the best chance fir a while. If Southgate gets you to another semi or final he deserves to have a knighthood
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 That’s a good goal, and it might shut Savage up.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Taffs getting a schooling here, woefully out of their depth so far.
stknowle Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Need to make sure we close out that Neco Williams deal.
CB Fry Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 You can't moan about "there was a foul in the build up" when your defender basically passes to their striker to score.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Has Savage gone home, hasn’t spoken for a while
qwertyell Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Calamity from Neco Williams. I was asking the other day what exactly people who think we should sign him rate about him - looks a poor player to me. Just because someone's not good enough for Liverpool doesn't mean they're good enough for us.

St.Jeweller Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Don't think Bale has had a shot on target in over 3 and a half games yet, So much for having a season at Spurs to get up his match sharpness. 1
Antrimsaint Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Getting the same feeling as Scotland v Croatia with this game. The Danes look a good outfit.
Baird of the land Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 I like the looks of some of these danish players. Thought i'd have a look at the Dolberg fella who has come in & destroyed wales. Playing for Nice, aged 23 all looked good. Signed for 20M euros though in 2019 though wow.

I think people underestimate a little bit how good an achievement it was for us to win our group without conceding. Although we’re on the ‘easy’ side of the draw, I don’t think that Germany are necessarily the biggest obstacle before the final. They’re certainly capable of having a terrible game at the moment, at least. 1
Sunglasses Ron Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Bale hugely disappointing today. Good performance by JV 👌🏻
Lord Duckhunter Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 At least they’re going out showing some class. Lol
AlexLaw76 Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Never a red card, but Wales are very well beaten anyway
steve green Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Savage is a numpty. Just says stuff, no knowledge about the game or apparently eyes.
woodsaint1 Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Maehle looking quality. Why did we not sign him 🤷🏽♂️
Chapel End Posted 26 June, 2021 Posted 26 June, 2021 Looks like the Welsh men will have to get their entertainment elsewhere now. Shepherds on high alert 😳
